Almost Four Years Post Op!!!

Apr 30, 2010

In two weeks I will be four years post op!!! I am so grateful for this surgery and try to use my tool correctly as the years pass on. I am still not at my lowest pre pregnancy weight, but you know what, I am OK with that!!! I feel healthy and I am happy with how I look... that doesn't mean I'm not trying to get the weight off, it's just taking a LONG time!!! I am currently 21 pounds from my goal weight.... I hope all of you are doing well on your journeys, I wouldn't change mine for anything!

Three Years Post Op!!!

May 27, 2009

I can't believe its been three years... at my lowest I was 134 pounds.. 14 months post pregnancy I am still tryin to loose the weight that I gained. I have 31 pounds left to loose. I would say that I am thrilled to be this healthy and I am determined to get these last 31 pounds off, and get back into those size six AE jeans. That being said, I feel great, and consider this surgery to be a great success!!!

My Baby, Lilly

Jun 22, 2008

It's been a long time since I have posted, but I had my baby Lillian Arabella ( Lilly for short ) I am SO HAPPY she is here. Being a mother is more wonderful than I could have ever dreamed. It is also more tiring, but no matter how I feel I keep going and take care of her the best I can. She is three months old now, and we're still not sleeping through the night, she gets up every four to five hours ( on a good night ) and eats. I am blessed to be able to stay home with her full time, but even though I don't work outside the house, I'm still sooooooo tired!!!  It has gotten so much better as the weeks go on, so I know I will be getting more rest soon!!!

As far as my weight goes I gained a total of 38 pounds during my pregnancy! That is way more than I wanted to gain but, it was worth it to have my baby healthy. I'm still working on getting back down to my goal. It was surely worth it though. My daughter is so beautiful & healthy, I would do it all again!011.jpg picture by jacquithrush

Almost 25 weeks pregnant!!!

Dec 03, 2007

It feels like I was peeing on the stick only yesterday, lol. But like everything time flies and I am already almost 25 weeks!!! I am doing much better with my eating the crazy feeling of starvingness has seemed to have pasted ( for the time being ) I have gained 17 pounds!!! I'm ok with it, I weigh 152 and I'm more than halfway done with this thing, I know I will loose it after the pregnancy. My doc says I'm good to go and on track!!! It doesn't seem like WLS is affecting things with the pregnancy like I thought it would!!!

I'm having a girl!!!

Nov 12, 2007

I'm having a baby girl!!! I wanted a boy, but I am so excited it's a little girl!!! I'm feeling pretty good. I haven't bought anything big for her yet, but I have gotten her a lot of clothes. I can't decide what I want her theme to be for her bedding, I was thinking Winnie the Pooh before, but now that seems so boyish!!! Ahhh I love all of it. I just can't wait till she gets here. I have gained so much weight this past month... I don't even like getting on the scale ( that is a bad sign, don't start letting yourself do that or you will be in trouble like me ) I have been BAD and eating carbs and junk food. Not to mention I am hungry just about every two hours, and if I don't eat I feel SICK. I never used to be a breakfast person but nowadays if I don't eat I'll be on the floor. I figure I got fat for fun, I can get fat for my baby ( haha, lol... within reason, i'm really not overdoing it too much, im just super hard on myself ) But I rejoined the YMCA, and I am trying to make myself go again. It's difficult cause my husband and I are sharing a car right now, and during the day I have my daycare kids, so I can't leave.... but we are looking into buying a Volvo... LOL, I'm serious, It's the safest car you can buy and I do love this baby girl more than anything. ;)

4 months pregnant!!!

Oct 06, 2007

Ok... so I am four months pregnant!!!! I am so excited to be this far, haha, but I know I have a ton more to go!!! I haven't had any nutritian problems, and my bloodwork has been coming back perfect!!! I feel so lucky and I can't wait for my healthy little baby to get here. Truthfully the numbers on the scale going up have scared me a little. I have gained five pounds so far... I know I can loose it after the baby gets here, it's just that I worked to hard this year to get it off, I can't help but crindge a little!!! Anyways, thats not really important though... all I care about is my baby, and that in March I will be a mommy!!!!

Q&A...

First of all I want to thank everyone on the boards that supported me and inspired me through my journey. I was lucky to find OH at the very beginning, and I don't know what I would have done without you guys. Also for everyone that the sends notes saying that I inspire them, really its the other way around... you guys keep me inspired and motivated!!! I don't ever mind answering questions, but since I seem to get the same ones... I thought it would be easier to just answer them all here.

Q: How much have you lost?

A: to date i have lost 136 pounds ( i am at a normal BMI and at my doctors goal weight, but my personal goal is to loose another 10-15 pounds )

Q: Have you had/having plastic surgery?

A: NO, BUT I NEED IT!!! Clothes hide alot folks, trust me. I have the bat wing arms, flabby tummy, boobs and inner theighs... I am getting a tummy tuck and breast lift this year, when I get down to my personal goal.

Q: Do you exercise? What type?

A: The first few months out of surgery, all I could really do was walk at a slow pace on the treadmill. But after the weight started coming off it was easier to take yoga, kickboxing, and pliaties... I have been staking lately, but I normal exercise 3 to 4 times a week. I never got involved with weight training, but I have heard it helps tone up... I wish I had!

Q: What is your diet like now?

A: At a year out I can pretty much eat like a regular person, except for a very limited amount. The amount of food you are able to eat does increase, so please enjoy the honeymoon period guys!!! Sugar makes me dump so I stay away ( thank goodness I have dumping ) Also greasy, salty fast foods, I can't really handle. I don't tell myself I "can't" have certain foods, I think this creates a feeling of deprevation, which causes you to want them even more. So with the exception of foods that make me dump, I eat want I want. But I stick with mostly meats and veggies. Protein bars are an easy way I get my protein in. But if I want to eat carbs once in a while I do. Sugar was my crack, so I stay away from the world of "sugar free treats." By the way, SUGAR FREE TREATS ARE NOT CALORIE FREE, DON'T SET YOUR SELVES UP FOR FAILURE. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. I DO!!!

Q: Have you had any complications, would you do this again?

A: Yes, Yes, Yes!!!!!!! I have had no complications and I would do this again in a second. This surgery is not a cure for obestiy, it is simply a tool. If YOU don't decide to change your life, and be healthy, Nothing not even rerouting your intestines can help you. Nothing is for sure, you can "beat the system," gain weight back, not fully relieze your potentional...ect. This is a life saving TOOL, but the sucess is up to you.

* Best of luck to everyone out there on there journey's! I love you guys, keep at it, and please keep in touch!!!!

I'M YEAR POST OP!!! :)

May 22, 2007

WOW!!! I can't believe I am one year post op... I wrote the following on April 13, 2006 about my goals for surgery, as you can see I have come a long way!!!!

Here are a few of my goals for after surgery:

1. To have more energy!!! ( YES!!! I GOT IT )

2. Feel better about myself and not cringe everytime I see myself in the mirror. ( CHECK )

3. To be able to shop in a store that has regular clothing, not plus size. I wanna buy cute clothes!!!
( YUP, I SHOP AE, GAP, ABERCOMBIE... )

4. Easily walk from one side of campus to the other without becoming out of breath. ( YES, I CAN MIGHT EVEN BE ABLE TO RUN ACROSS CAMPUS NOW )

5. Just to feel more like me again. ( YEAH!!! )

My Weight Goal:

So at my lowest adult weight, I was 150. I still "overwieght" but I did a ton of walking, and really I felt quite happy with the way that I looked. I think for my weight loss goal I would like to be in the 130-135 range, I would be happy, well thrilled to get to that point!!! ( AS OF 5-22-07 I AM 134 POUNDS )
