I got my date

I finally got my date and am so excited :) My new birthday is December 16, 2013!! I have started the lifestyle change and am loving it. I have been to the gym everyday since 10/1 and can really tell the difference in my energy level.

Walking to success

I decided yesterday that I was going to get super serious about exercising and well I found an app called runtastic in which I started today and love it!! I walked 3.40 miles in 1 hour and 17 minutes and it also helps calculate your speed. The best thing is it works directly with my fitness pal :) I am so glad that I have been given this chance to make my life better.

Being healthy is Addictive :)

AS I sit here researching what a healthy diet consists of I find myself downloading more apps to help me along my journey. I really think that getting healthy is addictive which is awesome I really need this! I have now got an app called runtastic and it seems to be great (putting it to the real test tomorrow). I have made so many new friends because of this decision and my family is starting to watch what they are eating as well and I am super grateful for that. I just took my daughter to the doctor and they said she is overweight and that hit home that I didn't need to just change me but all of us. I find myself wanting to know more and more about a healthy lifestyle which I find amazing because a year ago or even five months ago I wouldn't of imagined me wanting to or for that matter doing anything to change my lifestyle. As I sit here unable to sleep all I can do is pack more information into my head!!

Starting the Journey

As I started this journey in May I realized that I had to do this if I wanted to live long enough to see grandkids. When I went to my first appointment with my primary care physician here in MI I weighted 321 and was having knee trouble from a previous accident in which she looked straight at me and told me that my knee wasn't going to get better until I lost weight. Her next sentence was have you ever thought of WLS and I told her yes but insurance wouldn't cover it she then told me that now it will. The next day I was at a seminar. She also advised me to use lose it app for my phone to keep track of my eating. The day that I went to the seminar I decided that I wasn't going to drink soda anymore and I started my healthy eating. Since that day I have lost 26 pounds and have began to walk at least two miles a day.
