I have always had weight issues.  I had a nice shape in high school but I ballooned up after taking steroids from suffering with asthma.  I would eat everything i could get my hands on.  I tried yo-yo dieting and never considered having the lap band.  At that time my BMI wasn't high enough but a friend was interested.  Because of their interest I decided to look into it myself.  I went through the approval stages and was denied - and still not at the right BMI.   I gained 22 lbs in the process and I knew I had to do something.  At the beginning of the year my insurance changed at my job and I had my doctor to submit my paperwork immediately, and I was approved in less than 2 weeks l.  I had the surgery April 22nd and my first fill in May.  I had no significant results.  I had another fill on June 6th and I could feel the restriction.  THIS IS WHERE I AM TODAY June 11th  I am excited.  I am currently working out 4 times a week and lifting weight on 2 of those days and trying to eat better.  I am hoping for great results.  I realize that the Lap Band is a tool to assist you in losing the weight with your help.
