I called my insurance company to see if they could tell me anything about my status. They never received anything from the Doctors office. I was told September 28th it was being submitted that day.  SO.....I call the office and was told it hsn't been submitted yet. They are still waiting on the dictation to come back from my last visit.        

I am beginnging to think I am not meant to have this surgery. It's been nothing but a nightmare, with one thing after another. If it wasn't for wanting this Doctor to do the surgery, I would be searching elsewhere.

The Dr office realized they made a mistake submitting my insurance without all the documentation and they got it stopped.  So now everything has been submitted correctly  to my insurance and I hope to hear something soon    After talking to a lot of my friends on OH and soul searching, I decided to go with the Lap Band, instead of the RNY.  I realize I will lose slower and have to work harder with the Lap Band, but I just didn't feel the RNY surgery was for me

    I FINALLY GOT THE LETTER I HAD BEEN WAITING FOR. I CALLED THE OFFICE TO VERIFY THEY RECEIVED IT. THEY WENT ON TO TELL ME THAT THEY HAD ALREADY SUBMITTED MY INFORMATION TO MY INSURANCE 9/6/07....OK......I ASKED, WHY WOULD YOU SUBMIT IT WHEN YOU HAD TOLD ME, I DIDN'T HAVE ALL THE REQUIRED INFO.  THE GAL CAME BACK AND SAID, "IT JUST WAS"  NEEDLESS TO SAY I'M TORKED OFF. NOW MY INSURANCE WONT APPROVE THE SURGERY AND I WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE WHOLE DENIAL PROCESS.

THEY SURE DON'T MAKE THIS EASY!!   I WISH THE SKINNY GIRL'S IN THE OFFICE UNDERSTOOD HOW IMPORTANT THIS IS  AND TOOK IT MORE SERIOUSLY.  I LOVE THE DOCTOR BUT HIS OFFICE HELP COULD USE SOME TWEEKING

Yippee, I finally received my letter from my previous Doctor. Now all I have to do is get her dictations. She sent my lab info since 1997 but my insurance needs the actual dictations.  Do you think calling about every day may push them along??

Well I have done all my requirements for lap band surgery. I'm patiently waiting for a former Dr of mine, to write a letter, stating I have been obese for at least the last 5 years, which is required by my insurance (UHC). I left her practice about two yrs ago because of some problems with her nurse and now she is taking her sweet time writing this letter for me.  I don't think ethically she can deny me the letter,but I'm getting discouraged since it's been several weeks and this is all I need inorder to have my information submitted to my insurance for approval
