First Meeting about WLS

January 5-My husband and I attended an informational meeting about WLS.  It was very informative.  I had been kind of scared about  having WLS due to issues my sister had.  She had a procedure that used to be called "Stomach Stapling".  She had her procedure done when she was 18 years old back in 1977.  She has had many complications from this procedure all of her life.  She has had hernias, scar tissue, and other issues that I definitely do not want to have. During the question and answer portion of the meeting I explained my fears about having surgery due to my sister's experience.  The presenter  explained to me that things have evolved immensely since 1977 and that procedure is not even done anymore.  This made me feel better.  It really inspired me having some people at the meeting who had just recently had surgery.  One of them directly talked to me, she had the Rou-N-Y.  She explained how she felt and how she was doing.  What an inspiration!! I made my first appointment for my initial consult with Team Bariatrics in Goshen.
