Update

Jan 14, 2009

It's been a while since my last update.  I still have not made it to my goal but thanks be to God I did make it down 71 lbs.  But, I just joined Weight Watchers a week ago and I gained 10 lbs.  So now I need to get myself back in gear.

I think the problem was that I stayed at a plateau for too long and did not adjust my eating and exercise to correct it.  But, at least I caught it before I gained more.

I am able to eat most things now, but I still have issues sometimes with sugar and bread.  My sugar dumps are different now.  Instead of the gut wrenching nausea, I get cold sweats, the shakes and a weird feeling in my stomach.  But this only happens when I eat things I shouldn't.

My love life has greatly improved since my last blog.  I met a wonderful man in Sept and we have been going strong ever since.  He's an awesome guy.  Here's the story of how we met;

     I walk into a liquor store to buy stamps one night.  The store was empty except for the lady behind the counter and a tall guy in line with long dreadlocks.  When I stood in line behind him he turned around and said, "oh sister, your husbands coming".  I didn’t quite hear him and thought he asked did I have a husband, (he was kinda cute).  I looked at him confused and said, "I don't have a husband.” Then he turned a gain and said, "Hey, it's just a message; your husband's on the way.  I thought that this was just a line or that he was trying to flirt but he just grabbed his change, turned and walked away.  I went to follow him out but he was gone; vanished into thin air.

The next day I was flying out of town on business.  At the airport I kept bumping into this guy.  When I went through the security line the buzzer went off and I was stopped.  They had to search my bags.  He walked in after me and the buzzer went off again.  Now both of us were held there.  I turned to him and said, “It’s probably me, I have a bunch of cables in my bags”, he turned to me and said, “No, it’s probably me, I have a bunch of cables in my bag too”.  We both laughed and once security was curtain that we were not terrorists, they let us through.  We said our goodbyes and I thought I’d never see him again.  Then, we bumped into each other again in Starbucks, then on the same plane to Bentonville AR.  Now, no one goes to Bentonville unless you work for, or are trying to sell to Wal-Mart.  Anyway, we ended up on the same flight.  We exchanged cards and I hadn’t even asked where he was from.

The next day my line-reviews finished up early, but I couldn’t get a flight out until the next morning.  I was stuck in Bentonville and board.  Then, I got a call from the men I met at the airport.  His meetings finished up as well and we decided to have dinner together that night.  We hit it off soooo well.  I also found out that he lived only about 15 minutes away from me.

Long story short, we have been dating now for the last four months.  It seems as though I’ve known him all my life.  I will be sure to update you all soon.
