Fall Update
Oct 23, 2007
I'm really overdue for an update. In general, things are going well in Nebraska. Our support group is growing, and yet is still small enough to allow us all to still talk like friends when we get together. I have one more pound to lose to reach the 100 pound mark.
I've had a few rough weeks this month. My dad had back surgery, then my mother-in-law had a massive stroke and died. And to top that off, my aunt died from a brain tumor. All this was in a 4 week time frame. I am definately ready for some good news.
Spring Post

I'm enjoying the warmer weather. I've been walking my dog again, and building up my distance. After such a hard winter, it is so great to see all of the green grass and the buds on the trees. I hope the increase in exercise will boost my metabolism. My weight loss hit a plateau last winter. Golf season will start soon. I'm really excited about that!
May God Bless you all this Easter Season.

February's Post
Feb 05, 2007
I haven't even gotten used to the idea of being in 2007, let alone realizing that January is already over. Is anyone else struggling with emotional eating right now. I think I have cabin fever. I haven't been able to get out and walk the dogs due to the snow and ice on the streets. Thus, I've not gotten enough exercise or sun on my face. The dogs are a little stir crazy too.
I'm going through some personal struggles right now. If you would keep me in your thoughts and prayers, I would really appreciate it.

He lives in North Platte, NE - he and his wife have had Lap-Band surgery - and they look great! He looked so much like Santa, I think I'll visualize him when I think of Santa from now on. He even had little wrinkles around his eyes like you'd expect him to have. His hair color, texture & style were perfect. Even the way his facial hair was cut was what you'd expect. Anyway, they were a really nice couple, and I enjoyed my visit.
I'd encourage everyone to get out and attend a different support group once in a while (I drove about 90 miles to the one last). It gets you excited again, inspires you, and you get to meet some really nice people.
Have the Merriest Christmas, and a Blessed New Year!
My First Blog
Nov 04, 2006
This is my first Blog. I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to say in a Blog. Also, how do you all get such cute pictures on your sites? I cannot find anything with few enough bytes to work. Oh well, at least I have figured out how to get color. One step at a time. I'd also like to get one of those weight loss goal "tapes" that say how much you've lost and how much you have left. I don't even know what those are called. Maybe I need to ask a grade schooler for help. Boy, does this make me feel out-of-date.
I am enjoying all of this new technology. I have been working with PhotoShows recently. My Grandmother died last month (she was 93). I found two big boxes of old pictures dating as far back as my great-great grandmother. I put together a PhotoShow of her life for the funeral viewing and family get-together following the service. It turned out really well, and I received a lot of nice comments on it. I was able to e-mail it to my entire family.
Has anyone out there been thinking about what strategies to use to avoid temptation during the upcoming Holiday Seasons? Now that I'm almost at my goal weight, I'm starting to find it more difficult to say "no" to those foods I've had cravings for in the past. Some things are easy, since they are hard to swallow or tolerate. But, unfortunately, most sweets are all too easily swallowed and digested.
