I am 41, married, have 3 kids. Had VBG in 2003. Didn't have very good weight loss. Alot of vomiting and I am losing my teeth. And now I am suffering from acid reflux, never had before surgery.
My highest weight was 284 pounds. I had vertical banded gastroplasty (VBG) September 8th 2003, Dr. James K. Weber in Seattle was the surgeon. My lowest weight was 191 pounds 1 year post op. I have regained all plus 16 more pounds. I have had constant vomiting. I have Tricare Prime Insurance. I am looking forward to Revision surgery to the RNY.
I am researching what can be done now. Would like revision to RNY. I think there is still a chance at being healthy and feeling better.
Today is March 1, 2008 and I got my VBG surgery paperwork from Dr. Weber in the mail today. 
This past week (Feb 15th 2008) the vomiting got worse and I can't even eat. Only liquid will go down. I am going to get CT abdominal scan tommorow (Feb 25th 2008) and wonder if I should get endoscopy done.
I am getting the endoscopy done on March 4th, 2008. I could be mistaken, maybe I am only getting a consult. I don't know what to expect now and still not able to eat.
March 11, 2008 is my endoscopy day now at 9:30 in the morning. I am so very tired and have missed alot of work because I have no energy. Went back to work March 12th was very tired that week.
March 30, 2008 Life seems to be getting better other than still being 100 pounds overweight, gotta get on track, gotta focus on losing weight, trying not to give up. Had my foot surgery on March 28th and need to recover from this, but I am feeling better and hope that walking will be so much better when this is healed.
April 2, 2008 Asked my PCM for a consult with Dr Rawlins, told her I want to know if there is a chance for me to get a revision. So waiting to get the referal. Weighed 255 pounds on Dr's scale.
April 10, 2008 Got a call from my PCM, I have a referal to see Dr. Rawlins.
April 14, 2008 Got my referal in the mail, it is good for one year, and I have called the bariatric coordinator twice and left messages and haven't gotten a call back.
April 29, 2008 Got a call from Carol at Dr Rawlins office today after I got home from work. YEAH!!!!
I will go to the informational meeting May 13th at 5:30pm. Well Dr Rawlins did not help me, I think he assumed I could do it on my own, not a chance of that happening.
March 25, 2010 First appointment with Dr Spitz. So changing my PCM and seeing Dr Spitz has made me feel better about finally getting help. I think I have suffered enough. March 25, 2010 Revision Gastroplasty approved from Tricare. March 26, 2010 Barium Upper GI done. April 6, 2010 EKG and 1st Psychological evaluation done. April 12, 2010 Chest x-ray, labs and 1st Deititian appointment done.
April 13, 2010 Started the Pre-op diet, weighing in at 301 pounds. Hope to lose as much as possible, it won't be easy, but I am determined.
