April 19, 2010 Received a partial medical necessity denial with appeal rights letter from TriWest on getting a 2 hour Bariatric Psych Eval, they will only pay one hour now, when I thought they said they would pay for 2 hours. So on May 3, 2010 I am going to see someone at Northwest Behavioral Health Clinic in Spokane, and have to pay $450 dollars for some kind of deductible, so I have written my appeal and I hope we get that money back.  Next time I post I hope I will be all done with this and on my way to a surgery date.
May 3, 2010 Psych appointment done, not so bad, other than having to pay for it.
May 13, 2010 Got my Psych letter and a call from the bariatric coordinator and apparently I have to have Psychological counseling pre-surgery for at least 3 months and will cost approx. $125 dollars for each visit, assuming I have to go once a month, I think these Psychologists are money grubbers (sorry ranting)( tired of waiting to get this done) and I don't think it is fair to me if Tricare will not pay, have to wait to see if they will. There was no issues as far as I know, Tricare hasn't sent me a bill and neither has the Psych office.
August 4, 2010 Finally got my appointments set up, Dr Steven is great, so I had to go see him for 4 appointments, 1st one on the 4th, 2nd on the 18th, 3rd on Sep. 1st and 4th on the 15th. On my third appointment he has decided I am ready for surgery and said he would fax his approval, I am so very excited and so very ready, I think I will call the bariatric coordinator Tue or Wed (7th or 8th) to see if she has it yet.

March 26, 2010 So that was not pleasant, but at least something is getting done to get a revision from the vbg to rny.
