PET RULES

To be posted VERY LOW on the refrigerator door - nose height.

Dear Dogs and Cats,

The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The
other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print
in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it
becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in
the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating
me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I
fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry
about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure
your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they
sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched
out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails
straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize
space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by
some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is
not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw
under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the
same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years --
canine or feline attendance is not required.

The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt.
I cannot stress this enough!


To pacify you, my dear pets, I have posted the following message on our
front door:

To All Non-Pet Owners Who Visit & Like to Complain About Our Pets:

1. They live here. You don't.

2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the
furniture. (That's why they call it "fur"niture.)

3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.

4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who
is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.

Remember: In many ways, dogs and cats are better than kids because
they:

1. Eat less

2. Don't ask for money all the time

3. Are easier to train.

4. Normally come when called

5. Never ask to drive the car

6. Don't hang out with drug-using friends

7. Don't smoke or drink

8. Don't have to buy the latest fashions

9. Don't want to wear your clothes

10. Don't need a "gazillion" dollars for college.

And finally,

11. If they get pregnant, you can sell their children.

I'm doing the HAPPY HAPPY dance!!  I tried on a pair of size 16's today and they fit!!!!!!!!!!!  Okay they are the gloria vanderbuilt brand and a little stretchy, but Woah!!!  I didn't even have to suck all the air out of my torso to get the buttoned, my circulation was not cut off and they didn't look like spandex!  I think that qualifies as a good fit.  I was a 24/26 just a few short months ago.  I was floored.  I have lost 69 pounds... 70 here I come!!

I want to thank You for what you have already done. I am not going to wait until I see results or receive rewards; I am thanking you right now. I am not going to wait until I feel better or things look better; I am thanking you right now. I am not going to wait until people say they are sorry or until they stop talking about me; I am thanking you right now.. I am not going to wait until the pain in my body disappears ; I am thanking you right now. I am not going to wait until my financial situation improves; I am going to thank you right now. I am not going to wait until the children are asleep and the house is quiet; I am going to thank you right now. I am not going to wait until I get promoted at work or until I get the job; I am going to thank you right now. I am not going to wait until I understand every experience in my life that has caused me pain or grief; I am thanking you right now. I am not going to wait until the journey gets easier or the challenges are removed;

Woah!  It has rellt been a while since I posted.  I am doing pretty good.  I am weighing at 220 to 222 for the past 4 or 5 days now.  Can't seem to get rid of that 2 pounds.  I hope to be under 200 by the end of the month.  I have started to go back to the gym.  It is really no fun at all, but I'm doing it.  I have no real side effects.  But I am losing my hair by the fistful.  They said it would happen, but good grief!!  I feel like I am losing clumps everyday.  I want to just vaccum my head after the shower.  That is my big annoyance at the moment.  Everything else is going fine.  I'm eating okay.  I found that I like the gatorade rain flavors.  They are less concentrated than the regular gatorade.  They taste pretty good to me.  I had my 3 month labs.  Everything is good so far.  I go in agian at 6 months out to check agian.  

Well, nothing alse really to report.  Oh, I decided to put in for the new job.  I interview on wednesday.  We'll see what happens.

I have my wonderful well-woman exam in about an hour.  I weighed at home and I'm at 223 (clothed).  So I hope to be about the same there.  It will just solidify my 60 pounds gone.  I'm really excited about that, I can't believe it actually happened.  
I don't know if I posted about this before, but I got my fire fighting book today.  I am enrolling in 5 fire fighting classes.  They start in June.  I have 60 days to complete them.  These are online courses so I will be able to easily keep up with them.  I have to drive to Morganton to take final exams though.  It's about a 2 hour drive, but it's worth it to give up a saturday to get 5 classes done all at once.  Anyway, the point is, that I am finally starting on my fire fighting classes.  This fact makes my chief very happy.  He has been trying to get me into classes for a while.  My schedule being the hardest thing to overcome, because when it comes to most classes they are at night.  I'm very excited to finally get started.

Well, It's been a whole 2 weeks since I posted.  I weighed at 226.8 today.  I'm pretty happy with that but I have to get to 225 by sunday to make my goal.  I am working at the fire station today.  I love it here.  It is just about my favorite thing to do.  I figured I would post a bit before I go get some coffee.  Of course everything is really about the same.  I am kicking around a new oppurtunity thougyh.  I have a bug in my ear about a new job.  It would be a little more money and still doing something I love to do.  I'm thinking about it.  My biggest issue is that I truely do love my current job and position.  I have been there for 5 plus years and I'm comfortable.  Maybe that is good or maybe it's bad... I don't know.  Any advice would be welcome.  My co-worker thinks I have loyalty issues.  Which I guess is true.  My current job has been REALLY good to me over the years.  The only problem is that there is no room for promotions or up to date training where I am.  So if I stay, I will stay in the same position.  The new job has room for advancement and promotion.  hmmmm.... I'm in no real rush to make a decision yet.  Just thinking about the options.  
Well, I hope we run our butts off today... coffee time.  More later....

Happy Birthday to me.  Well, today I am 30 years old.  I don't particularly like it much.  I guess it will be okay.  One of my goals was to be 50 pounds down by my birthday and I have made that.  Actually today I weighed 230 even.  I'm so excited about the weight loss so far and look forward to what is to come.  Today I'm doing my favorite thing in the world, working at the fir station.  I love this place.  I love the people, the excitement and the job in general.  I love to help people.  I feel that is why God put me on the earth.  I guess that's pretty good...  I'm 30 and I know that I know what I was made to do.  Now the challenge is to do it without regret and with great enthusiasm.  I hope to reach that goal by the time I'm 35.  It will be a great day.

Wow... it's been a while since I posted anything.  I am doing MUCH better since the past surgery.  I can eat agian.  The only problem I have now is how the food makes it "out" of my body.  To put it nicely, it's either really fast or really slow.  I'll figure out how to regulate it eventually.  Thats the only annoyance I have at the moment.  I have lost a few more pounds.  If you should happen to find them,  we've never met and you don't know where I am.  I weighed today at 232 pounds.  WooHoo!! Which means I am now in the 'obese' catagory.  No longer the 'morbitly obese' catagory.  I dropped a wieght class.  hee hee!  So I have officially lost 52 pounds since my surgery 9 weeks ago.  I feel very good about that.  The difference really is something.  I feel better about myself and more confident.  I feel like I am (or getting close too) normal.  I don't feel the stares as much.  I know I have about 90 more pounds to go, but I feel really good about where I am at this time.  Well, this is saturday afternoon and I need to get out and plant a few lillies.  Today is "work on the yard" day here.  I'll post agian soon.
