"I was the first RNY patient at this hospital, obviously not Dr. Metz's first RNY patient. They do not yet have their bariatric unit open and when I woke up from surgery, I was in ICU b/c there were no other beds available. Later that night, they moved me to the 3rd floor, which is OB/Med Surg overflow. The only major complaints I have is that no one told me that the patient needed to call down to food services and order their trays. I didn't get a tray my second night there and no one was able to find me anything until about 11pm at night. I did get my trays the next day. It is a beautiful hospital with spacious, up-to-date accommodations. Very generous visitation policy."
"Update as of October 6 2010. I was VERY impressed with Dr. Metz's office staff, office set up and his nurse practitioner. He was AWESOME...very thorough and patient. Great sense of humor and good about answering questions. Is a pleasure to deal with. He was very personable with both myself and my partner. Linsey, the dietitian was good as was Aimee, the social worker. I appreciate the fact that Dr. Metz and his NP, Alison were both open and affirming to my family and are open with communication. "
"Dr. Lyche has seen my partner, one of my three children as well as myself. I have also had the pleasure of working alongside her as a Medical Assistant. She is an awesome doctor, and a wonderful person. She does not have the whole "God" complex that many doctors have these days, and is very warm and genuine. She has helped me get referrals to specialists for consultations, knowing that any insurance/Medi-Cal program will want proof of necessity from the specialists as well as herself. She has been very thourough in helping with everything, and has made sure that everything new is in the chart so when the day comes for me to gain approval from an insurane carrier, I won't have to jump over any hoops. She is very understanding, and is not condescending or mean to her obese patients the way some doctors can be.
If you don't mind the rough and tumble look of the clinics, she is really worth the wait."
