Hi everyone. I'm feeling pretty good today, this morning I weighed 234lbs, that's -10 in a week (-16 if you count the water weight I put on in the hospital)that puts my BMI at 38.9. I am no longer extremely obese, now I'm just obese lol. Anyway, for the first few days I thought I was going to die, but now I'm pretty much myself again. I'm never hungry of course and I find it hard to get in all of my fluids and protein, but I'm working on it. I hope everyone is well and as happy as I am :0)

I'm really weak and gasey. I keep walking as much as I can but I have a headache and I feel kinda like I have the flu. I guess cause my lymph nodes are swollen trying to fight off any infection. I don't have any drains and i have really small incisions, and they look real good. My stomach hurts just a little but what is most uncomfortable is the gas, I'm so bloated. Of course it's just my luck that I started my period right after surgery. When I woke up I was wandering why I was bleeding, and the lovenox (blood thinner) did n't help matters. I just can't seem to pass this gas, any suggestions? I've tryed Gas-X.... I'll write more later.

Well, I've been on this liquid diet for 10 days now and today was my pre-op visit with Dr. V., I can't believe I've lost 16 lbs (BMI is 40.8). I knew I had lost some and I got all dressed up, hair, make up, everything, I thought I looked GOOD, until I saw the pre-op pic they took, ew. My surgery is tuesday the 24th, I'm a little nervous but I'm mostly excited. All prayers are most appreciated, Good luck and good health to all.

Hey, sorry it's been awhile, I've been meaning to post for the last few days but I've been busy. I recieved my dates for post-op appts. a few days ago. I have to attend a pre-op class on 7-11-07, pre-op with the anesthesiologist on 7-12-07, pre-op visit with my surgeon, Dr. V, on the 19th, and surgery on the 24th at 11am.
I only have 4 more days to eat before I start my liquid diet and as I've read in so many other peoples blog,I thought I would be eating alot in anticipation(sp), but I'm not. In fact I have been eating slightly smaller portions. I guess I've just resigned myself to already. Don't get me wrong, I will have have my one last special meal. I've not decided what it will be yet, but it will be good. I'll post more later, I intend to post as much detail as possible, b/c I have found other peoples info very inspiring and helpful.

I have a date!!! July 24th, just 29 days away. Dawn said she would send my appointments for the class I have to attend (it's on the 11th) and my pre-op appointment at Presbyterian hospital. I'll start my liquid diet on the 10th. I'm so excited!!! :0)

I called Dr. V's office yesterday to see if Kim had a number for me to get in touch with my Ins. to see if I could speed things along a little (she was suppose to have sent it in a week ago), and she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about. She said that she had not sent it in yet b/c she still needed my EKG, Chest X ray, and PCP notes!!! I reminded her that she already had those things and after being put on-hold for about 15 mins she came back on the phone and told me she had everything and would send it in today. I called back this morning and she said she had just now sent it in!!!! Maybe I'm being impatient but it seems like people in the medical profession should be more orangized and competant.
