Roadblock

May 07, 2010

I talked to the Geisinger Bariatric Surgery Dept. today.  I got the impression that my insurance, First Priority Life, isn't great at covering obesity visits.  Since I will be having any surgery after August, they won't be my insurer anyway.  Medicare will be.  But in the meantime, I'll have to call them to see what they would cover, if anything.  I'm kind of worried because since I will be retiring the beginning of Sept. and will not get any SS or payments from my retirement plan till October, I need to save all the $ I can.  To top it all off, I stillowe my dentist $400 from a bridge that cost more than I had saved up for and now my car is on the fritz!  I'm just going to have to take it a step at a time.  I've decided that I need to start "dieting" now, not wait till I see the Bariatric people.  But I haven't had much luck sticking to diets, especially in the past couple of years.  But if I don't do something, I'll weigh 400 lbs. before I get to the surgeon!  I'm a little depressed.  This is not my usual state, so it feels terrible.  I like being happy, but who doesn't!  It's just that my life has been pretty good lately and hitting a roadblock frustrates me.  Turn it over, Vern!
