I have been asking myself a lot of what if questions the last couple of days, (what if my lap RNY turns into an open procedure, what if I have a leak, what if I can't come back to work soon enough, what if i get an infection, what if ...what if) but I am so thankful for the support of the friends who have had WLS and for those who are about to have it (my Katy!) who have been such a tremendous support to me. I don't know what I'd do without all of you. I called a friend (Monica) who is one year post op last night whining and today she encouraged me so much by sending me HER before and after photos. WOW! What a vivid picture...as I have seen her shrinking over the last year how quickly we forget. That was all I needed...just a simple reminder of the changes that will come over the next 12 months. Now my nervousness is fading  and it's being replaced by anticipation. I can't wait to begin this journey. I find myself so lethargic and tired these days. My feet hurt, my back is killing me, and the hypertension frightens me. I want to be able to play with my children and not be so stinkin LAZY. Don't get me wrong we have a lot of fun together, but when the baseball coaches say we'll have a kids vs parents game I want to be able to play and not be the mom who offers to keep score becuese I know that's all I'll be able to accomplish. I'm ready for a new beginning.
So my countdown for surgery begins....13 days to go...
