I started researching wls about a year ago and I decided on having the Roux-in-y Gastricbypass. I have made all my visit with the different types of doctors. This was putting mileage on my wheels driving back and forth to Decatur, Ga. Everyone of my appointments was on a different date so I really had to pay out money for those high gas prices averaging 300 miles round trip. But that's ok because good ole TRi-Care reimburse you every cent. There was a process that I had to go through no cutting corners.
1st step attened a seminar with the weight loss surgeon, 2nd visit with the psychotherapist, 3rd pulmonary doctor 4th nutritionist,
5th letter of clearence from my pcp. Although; the only piece of info: that I need is a clearence letter from the pulmonary (lung specialist). I was diagnose with sleep apnea and I have to wear the cpap device about four weeks before I even see the pulmonologist for my follow up. That appointment is not until August 13th 2008 maybe then she will fax my surgeon a clearence letter so that I can start my pre-op steps and be given a date for surgery. I can't wait to be on the other side (slim) this weight is a pain in the butt . Health problems that I am facing is hypertension, sleep apnea, lower back pain, knee, foot pain etc..... I thank God that I did not develope a chronic illness such as; heart disease, diabetes, cancer. I just want what God gave me in the beginning which is good health and joy.
