Hi Wendi! I am so thrilled to have met you (online at least). You seem like such a nice and FUN person! I am very excited for your surgery. It is funny that I have Kaiser and you have BCBS and you talked to your PCP on May 8 and had approval June 25 and I asked my PCP on May 9 and had approval June 26! We are just one day off on each of these things. I do get a little bummed to have to keep waiting to hear my date, but I am praying it comes this week. It will be exactly 3 weeks since my 3 appts tomorrow. Anyway Sept 18 will be here before you know it. Your husband sounds like a real treasure. Mine is pretty cool too. I am 32 and I have trouble in the baby dept. too. I hope and pray that maybe the surgery will help both of us on that front too. If not then at least we will get to live life THIN!!! Maybe I will get the chance to meet you. That would be totally AWEOME! I gotcha in my prayers big time. Good Luck! Keep me posted! ((((HUGS))))

Hi Wendy! Thanks so much for your well wishes! I read your profile and I just want to say that it is such a bummer that you would have had to wait so long for a lap date. At least you get to have it open, rather than nothing at all! I can't wait to hear all about your experience. Best of luck to you and I'll be reading your profile for updates. Take care!! Renae

Wendi - Well, I haven't had my surgery yet, but I AM fresh from my surgeon consult (with Dr. Rumsey at Pacific Bariatrics) and asked some of the same questions. I was told Dr. Rumsey routinely does a leak test before he closes you up. (Blue dye to test the sutures.) Everyone gets blood thinners and leg cuffs are standard. They get you up ASAP, within hours of getting back to the room - which is what helps to prevent those nasty blood clots! Hope this helps!

Hi Wendi, I just read my post to you and it didn't sound right at the end. What I meant by "if your still there" was you might already be released from the hospital by the time I get there. My surgery is not until 2:30pm.
