10 years later

Apr 05, 2018

It's been 10 years, and as I was told I did pick up weight. I never got back to my high weight but it came close. In December, actually  on December 30, 2017 I joined Weight Watchers because I had to do something. Since then (3 months later) I have lost 32 pounds. This time it is all me and not the surgery taking the weight off. 17 more pound to get to my low post surgery weight and I know I can do it. It is a program I can live with and the good eating habit has set in.

Long time no see!

Ok I haven't been on in ages, so here I am. I have been at a weight stand still for months now (actually picked up 3 pounds over the holidays). I am now going on day 3 of the 5 day pouch test to get things moving again. It hasn't been too bad, day 1 and 2 were liquids and soft stuff (soup, protein drinks, pudding and yogurt) today I get soft stuff (tuna & eggs). This better work!!

Paris

Just got back from Paris, it was incredible! I'm a bit tired and would have thought I'd be 10 lbs lighter considering all the walking we did!

No time to write, no time to play on the computer, just posted my 5 month pic's. I'll update soon.

Wasn't going to exercise today but the scale moved again so I was encouraged. Road 23 miles yesterday, will walk today, taking tomorrow off from exercise. I found a protein bar I like at Sam’s Club – 20 grams of protein and 190 calories. I'm comfortable in a size 18, fit in some 16's - they fit but still just a little too uncomfortable for me, and the 20's are getting too big. Ana leaves tomorrow for Johns Hopkins for 10 days; let’s see what I accomplish while she is away. I have floor duty and an open house today, maybe I'll get some business....

exercise

Jun 26, 2008

Exercise rules my day, my bike was in the shop for almost 2 weeks, but I have it back now. I did 2 days of 18 miles, the 1st day was great, the 2nd day was horrible - I was exhausted, today I will walk, I need the break, I think it is a 6 miles route. The scale has started to move slowly again, I still think I may be eating too many high calorie foods I tend to eat peanut butter at night to boost my protein intake. I may be neurotic, but I keep feeling my hair and it feels much thinner – I had a lot of thick hair, so it is kind of hard to say – I’m not seeing extra hair in my brush, oh well – I did have some to spare. I’m still addicted to chips, I don’t eat but a few, because they feel terrible in my body – but I still love the taste and crunch!  Real Estate to so slow for me, that I have applied for 2 jobs, haven’t heard from either one of them yet, I don’t know what I will do if I get a day job, I guess I will have to exercise at night, right now we need the income. In the mean time it is now -- Time to walk!!!

4 months post op

Very slow (but steady) wins the race. I've only lost 7 pounds all month. I'm have started riding my bike seriously, My normal route is 17 miles and I try to do that at least twice a week, as long as I have time in the morning I'll try to get in a shorter ride. I'm getting stronger, but many bikers still pass me on the rode. I do feel like I now really have to work at getting the weight off and I'm thinking about joining WW just for the weekly progress - as I aim for my goal!!!  This is the real world, the honeymoon is over!

no weight loss in a week

May 23, 2008

Well I've been the same weight for a week now. Yesterday I went to Franca's house and we walked for 30 minutes, today I rode my bike there and then we walked 45 minutes and then I rode my bike home, so hopefully I'll kick the weight loss thing back into gear. We went to Talbots today and i bought a really cute dress with a little jacket in a size 16W - I don't get why they have a 16W (or any W sizes)- it's actually larger then an 18, but it still made me feel good to get a 16 anything. My 16 pants are still too tight, I can get them on and buttoned, but then I can hardly move. My 20's are getting to be too big, when I can pull anything off without unbottoning it, that's when they get moved to the giveaway pile. At the GBMC meeting on Wednesday a plastic surgen came in to talk to us, I think if I have anything done, I'll do my arms, the rest of it I'll don't mind as long as I can cover it with clothes.

exhausted

May 16, 2008

I'm so tired from this past week, I can hardly stand it. The staging went well, and I don’t think I screwed up that badly on camera. I really didn’t like the shot of me putting the open house sign in the ground (I’m going with the theory that TV adds 10 pounds). I finally slept 8 hours last night. I now need to concentrate on getting protein and water in again.
