Post from Michelle's Daughter: Hi All! I wanted to update you on my mom's recovery. Her surgery was Tuesday morning, and up until today, things have been very hard on her. However, I spoke with her just a few minutes ago and she is remarkably better today. Her spirits are lifted and she's sounding like her old self again. She had been originally given morphine for the pain, but that had quite an adverse effect on her. She became so nauseated after it that they were unable to perform the dye test yesterday and had to postpone it until today. But, she's off the morphine and on demerol and valium now! So no longer is she nauseated like before. This morning they did the dye test and it came back successful, with no leaks. Things are healing well and she's on the road to recovery! The doctors will possibly release her tomorrow from the hospital so she can make the journey home and I will let you all know when that happens. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. It has meant a lot to us all! Jennifer

Message from Michelle Beard's Daughter, Jennifer: I wanted to let you all know that my mom has made it through the surgery. I spoke with my dad at a little after Noon today and she had just been moved to recovery. Although she has not yet awakened from the anesthesia, they anticipate she will be conscious in an hour or so. She is still on a respirator, and will continue to be, until they are sure she can breathe well on her own. Once out of recovery, she will be in ICU until tomorrow morning when they will do another procedure to make sure there is no leakage and that things are healing as they should. At that point, provided everything is still ok, they will move her out of ICU, and she should be released from the hospital (again, provided no other complications arise) by Thursday late afternoon. I will keep you all updated on her progress and let you know if anything changes. Jennifer
