This tool I have been given is unbelievable. Yes I'm tired of eating soft food,eggs, ricotta, pudding, refried beans. But I am down from 231 on June 2 to 224 day of surgery June 6 to.....209.5 today! 
I'm getting in my protein and about 50 oz. of water a day. Today has been the first day I have just been worn out. So I walked a little, and slept for 3 hrs this afternoon. Guess I needed it.

Meat Crust Pizza (PK’s recipe)
1 lb of ground beef extra lean

Pizza Sauce

Light Mozz cheese

Any other pizza toppings you enjoy

20 All Wheat Crackers Crushed

2 eggs

 

Directions:

 

Mix the ground beef, eggs and crushed crackers together and press into a cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 for 10-15 mins until brown.  Then top like a regular pizza and cook an addition 10-15 mins.

I'm already loving it! I had surgery on June 6 and was released on June 8th. Other than a little problem coming out of anethesia I did great. This morning I went to see Dr. Mann for my 1 week post op...It's official I am loser of 1lb and more excitedly right now--no more diabetes meds! After surgery I was put on Metformin,oral med. 1000 mg day. Prior I was on insulin.

The only pain I have is from a hematoma on my lower right belly. I am very black and blue.

I'm beginning to use the products of the Sample I ordered from 
www. bariatriceating.com  Today I started Day 1 of a 4 day liquid diet. Started the day with a cup of coffee and 'Mice" milk . It is a creamy vanilla flavor and not too bad. 17oz has 40 grams of protein.
After12 oz of gatorade and 16 oz of diet Lipton green tea citrus flavor I was hungry. I tried the Matrix cookies & cream sample-YUMMO no funny aftertaste on this.

Tonight will be my last no holds barred- eat anything I want dinner. And you know what --I don't care!
I had lunch with my bff Becky yesterday at Olive Garden. Soup, salad and breadsticks and boy o' boy waht a number it did on my insides.
Tootin' like a jackhammer.LOL

Amber is gonna be my surgery angel and will keep everyone updated. What a great girl she is. She has had LOTS to deal with in her life and still keeps a positive attitude. You go chica!

I got the following info from my surgeon's nurse. Hope you get a feel what it might be like for you! Good luck.

Shopping list for clear liquid before surgery : 
fruit juices- apple,grape,cranberry,peach,koolaid,crystal light
broth- beef,chicken,vegatable
others-sugar free--decaf coffee,tea, jello popsicles,frozen clear juice bars,gatorade, flavored water, water

the protein drink will be the only non clear liquid. Suggested drinks are Isopure, Adkins,protein powder mixed with a clear liquid. You will need 60 grams of protein daily. hint: stay out of the kitchen preparing others meals!

Vitamins--sublingual B12, Flintstones chewables, Chewable Vitamin C,
Calcium Citrate, Iron 40 mg, Zinc 10-20mg, stool softener

Post op stages 3-4 shopping list
crystal light, sugar free popsicles, chamomile tea, low fat cottage cheese, low fat ricotta cheese, fat free cream cheese. mayo, sugar free jello, eggs or egg beaters, canned tuna, chicken, bouillon, skim or 1% milk, light yogurt 100-120 calories in 8 oz.,V8 juice, unsweetened applesauce, canned fruit,baby food prunes,jar gravy, canned vegies or fresh cooked well, cream of wheat, oatmeal,grits, saltines, baked tortilla chips, sliced bread for toast, fiber choice chewable supplement or benefiber, Splenda, nutrasweet or Sweet & Low

I have info on taking vitamins--some should not be mixed. I also have sample meals and some suggested do's and don'ts. Please contact me if you would like more info!

*Make sure you have a thermometer to monitor your temp post op.
*You may have a JP drain during your stay- use the hospital gown to avoid getting your pjs bloody
*you will have a foley catheter after you are under anethesia
*prepare to wear sweats or loose pj bottoms home
*take slippers, chapstick or lip medex and a pillow

Like I said--these are suggestions and what my doctor wants his patients to follow. I have seen most of this info on various boards here at OH. Good luck!

Had a nice lunch today with Amber, Sheila, Corinn and her little girl Cora. Such wonderful women. 
My weight is actually dropping even prior to surgery. I stopped taking Wellbutrin and am not sure if that has any effect on the weight loss.
I weighed in this AM at 226.5 lb. And I have been eating ice cream, cookies and chocolate. Not good for my diabetes but ...
