Day 1 of 14 LIQUIDS
Dec 05, 2012
SO today is my first day of liquids. I guess I still need to lose a few pounds to qualify. Plus it will shrink my liver and get my body ready to not eat so much. The thing is I worry I won't be able to do it and that I'll get migraines with the reduced intake.
I'll update as I go.
Sleep Study-Check!
Dec 05, 2012
I guess it turns out I have sleep apnea :( Boo
This was the last diagnostic I needed to do for my doc.
Dec 20th is my last weigh in with my PCP!
Upper GI Done!

That milky chalky stuff was pretty gross. I was in and out in an hour and doc gave me the go ahead!
Even called me petite! LOL
Next week I have my sleep study.
December 20th, I meet with my PCP for my final check in!
Psych eval done and passed!
11 more pounds to go to meet the insurance requirement!
I'm getting closer to surgery!
Psych Eval-DONE!
Nov 01, 2012
I had my psych eval done today.I took the MMPI, over 5000 questions of true/false madness After that I interviewed with the psychologist. There was also another questioner about eating habits, maybe 25 questions. I am a little nervous about passing the thing. I won't know for another week. With my history of MDD and possibly Bipolar? I do not know how well I did. I also felt like maybe I was fudging a little on the test. Especially on the introversion questions. I do not enjoy crowds and I am shy to a fault. Okay, I'm very nervous.
Next are the swallow study and sleep study-If I pass this eval!
PCP in 20 days, I hope to have lost 10 pounds of my required 20!
So, I messed up!

Initial Visit
Oct 17, 2012
The nutritionist (NUT) said this time should be used as a transition period. Wean off the carbonated drinks, caffeine, sugary, high fat and fried foods. He also recommended taking 30 minutes to finish my three meals and snack. This probably will be difficult as I tend to INHALE my food! In addition, a multivitamin, Vitamin D, and probioics are required
The last two weeks will be a liquid diet mainly consisting of protein shakes and water. I'm looking forward to it, weird huh? The NUT and doc said the liquid diet is not a requirement as my BMI is below 40 but it will likely benefit the recovery process.
No more skipping meals, no more excuses, this is the real deal!
LET'S DO THIS!!!
Here We Go!

Initial Appointment - Pending
So, about one month ago I went to see my PCP and found out I have DM and high cholesterol. I'm 35, I was stunned!
Being a nurse I know how being overweight can be detrimental to my health, so why have I let it get this far?
I went to a WLS seminar and learned about my options. The sleeve and RNY sound like the options I should discuss with my surgeon. My appointment is set! I go n to see him in less thatn a week, WOO HOO!
I've been reading everything I can get my hands on regarding this issue and have been reading some other blogs of people who have undergone the procedure. I'm encouraged! The thing that scares me is that I need to lose 20 pounds before I EVEN have the surgery! WHAT??? Not what I wanted to hear!
The nurse told me not to lose weight between now and the initial appointment so that every pound counts towards the goal.
By the way, I was suppossed to get married today. I am not going through with it.
