Day 3 - Post Op
Jul 14, 2010
Well, I came home yesterday. It was a 40 min drive. My husband tried to avoid the bumps. But in hindsight, I should have taken a pillow to hold over my stomach and help hold things in place. My pain in the hospital was very minimal. I was expecting it to be ALOT WORSE! I do have pain at home if I don't get my pain meds taken at exactly the 4 hour mark. My stomach feels like I've had a really bad flu and I've been throwing up for days. (No I haven't thrown up, be if you had to describe it, that is what it feels like.) I think my muscles feel the worse around my arms and neck. Probably from trying to get up and down without using my stomach.
I love to drink water and don't feel like it is going to be a problem to get in my water and protein drinks.
One thing for sure... you don't get to sleep in the hospital. I think I had a total of 3 hours of sleep while I was there. There is always someone coming in to check on you. It feels great to be at home and sleep for hours at a time.
I am still glad I had it done. Post more later!
