I am a 32 year old mother and divorcee. I've been big since I was 12. I've tried several times to lose weight and have only achieved moderate success. When I succeed, I get set back, and the cycle repeats itself over and over. After 9 years of rebuking the idea of surgery and the increasing pain in my legs, I've decided to have WL surgery. I am scheduled to have my VSG on 6/21 and I cannot wait! I am so ready to finally get the long-term help I need.

I enjoy exercising, but I have problems with portion control and my overall love of food. I've been working through my emotional connections to food and I feel stronger now than I ever have. The surgery is but ONE part of my final efforts to finally get rid of this weight.

I'm 6'0 tall with a large frame. My initial goal is 200 lbs, which is about 20 lbs heavier than what I "should" be fore my height and frame. We'll see how it goes when I get there. i've always been told that I "carry weight well" but the pain I'm feeling in my hips, knees, and ankles isnt exactly carrying weight well.

I'm looking forward to taking up boxing and yoga, two things I have shied away from being heavy.
