One month ( and 2 days) post op.

Jun 29, 2013

Well...what a journey this has been.  I'm down 50.6 pounds since September when I started my process. I'm down 37 pounds from the day I started optifast and 25 pounds down from the day of surgery.  17 inches when I last checked and that was a few weeks ago.

I started back to the gym which feels great!

i went for my 1 month follow up with the surgeon and he said had I come in now I wouldn't qualify for this surgery. My BMI is now under 40 ?  It's all so surreal still.  So many times when I don't feel like I've had surgery and then other times when I take a big gulp of water or take water that is too cold. Yup peers... I remember pretty quick that I had the procedure. There are some things that I have found that don't really agree with me. One being rice.  Cold water, any amount of BBQ sauce. I've not had dumping no have I thrown up but I do get what I can describe as a painful lump in my stomach. Kinda tells me..nope. That's not coming in here. Then I stop and what I'm eating if I can and slow down.

Im relearning so many things about my habits since they all had something to do with food I'm trying new things to suppress my need to shove something in my mouth.  Eating out will take time to find restaurants that will cook my food the way I need it done.  It can be done but thank god I don't eat out all that often.

Some foods that I have tolerated well.

2 Ryvita snack breads in whole wheat with 1 tbsp (total) of peanut butter and half a banana. Delish.

I just have to eat slow and not drink anything with my meals.
