The first time i asked to be referred for surgery was in 2007. I was told there was a long waiting list and not to hold my breath. Referral sent, no news. When i started my new job in January of 2010 a coworker was going for surgery at St. Joes in Hamilton. She gave me the information and off i went to see my family doctor again. I was informed only at this time that i had not heard anything about the first referral was do to the incarceration of the doctor i was referred too.
Great, i felt depleted, like their was no hope, the universe was against the thought of me finally putting all of the useless diets behind me and giving me the tool i needed to make my life a healthy one.
MY doctor put through my completed my referral in February. Unfortunately then went on holidays and it was not sent out or received by St. Joes until i called my family doctor to question about it in April. Another bash to my already weak amount of hope.
I felt like i had been waiting forever. Like this journey would never truly begin for me.
Finally on June 30th i received word from St. Joes, i was booked for orientation on July 12th.
With the orientation now under my belt things are on their way! I cant wait to be the young and healthy mom i should have been for my kids from the start!
