No surgery

Nov 06, 2011

I am going to make this short and sweet! No surgery for me as I lost too much weight and they feel it would be dangerous for me to have it. I have known about this since the summer but have not wanted to blogg it for a while  I now am down 76 pounds so I have 42 more to lose. Well I would like to lose 50 more. We will see! Take care all and remember that if you lose too much weight you won't qualify!!!

August

Aug 14, 2011

Well the day has come for my second appt to see the Nurse Dietition and Social worker. I unfortunately have lost more weight due to these Gall blader issues and I will probably down 12 pds down when I get on the scale. So frustrated I mean don't get me wrong I love that I have lost 60 pounds but I am terrified because it is because I am sick when I eat. The doctor says it usually settles down in 6 months and then what do I do then. I have been waiting since Oct 2010 for my turn. Oh well we will see what tomorrow brings.

Good Night and Wush me luck!!!

June July 2010

Jul 22, 2011

Well I haven't written for a while. The Gallbladder situation has changed things. I have lost a total of 55 pounds because I can't seem to keep weight on. This is the weirdest thing that I have ever had happened to me. When I went for my appointment in June I only met with the nurse and dietition. The social worker was sick so she was not available.
I have another appointment with the three wise women again on August 15. My BMI does not meet the criteria now. It is sitting around 38. I can't believe I started out at 43.75. I now am hoping that they will still let me stay on the list because the Gallbladder operation may have changed my metabolism now but things may go back to the way it is. I have lost weight before just like all of us that struggles with yo yo dieting and bad eating habits.   So now I guess I wait for August 15 to find out what is going to happen.  Will keep you posted!

That is it for now

April Update

May 18, 2011

It has been a difficult time trying to get over my gall bladder systems and frankly it has kicked my butt. I had some difficulty in keeping food down and without going into details, it was not fun. I took quite a bit of time off work. Just resting! with my WL support group. I can't thank them enough for all there support. Sometimes you can get frustrated when you go on your forums and you see so many people getting the surgerys quicker ect. I just hope that there is no slow downs.
I also hope to not have any of my appointements cancelled on June 10.

Catch you later!

March update.

May 18, 2011

Sorry i have had a really rough March. First of all I ended up with Gall Bladder surgery on March 3. My orientation was March 10 and I would never missed it. The very next morning the cl inc opened I got my apt to see the nurse the deletion and the social worker. It starts at 8am. Funny though is I will be coming off a night shift at St Joseph's Health Care where I recently landed a great Personal support worker job. I am very excited to get this process started. As you can see I started this journey on October 3/10. I waited 6 months for orientation. In between all this I managed to lose 42 pounds because I ended up not being able to eat. So the weight fell off. I have some co-mordities so I am hoping that my BM! is  enough! So I will make this a short read tonight has I have April and May to catch up on

February Update

Feb 03, 2011

Well we just got home from Mexico and it was fabulous. I had another Gall Bladder attack yesterday and had to go to the hospital to get it sorted. Well I finally got it. My Orientation letter from Guelph. I have orientation on March 10/11 from 6-9 pm. I am so excited that this ball is finally rolling. It took 6 months from the date that the referal was sent in. Have an appointment with my Doctor on Tues at 2 pm to help me fill in this form of questions I received today. He has all the dates of and family history. Anyway this is my first update as a newbie that is on the road to a new life.

January Update

Jan 08, 2011

Well it was an okay Christmas. I missed my Mom, but we managed to get through it. On New Years Eve day I had a Gall Bladder attack. Well it took Er 6 hours to find out what it was. Apparently I have stones in my Gall Bladder and so it has to come out. I went to my family doctor the other day and he weighed me and I am down 13 pounds since October. I am pleased with that because I knew I had lost 12 and now 13. Christmas is a hard time not to gain any weight and I lost an extra pound.
So I got a call from my Doctor's office and I am going to be seeing Dr. Foute-Nelong (not Reed) as originally mentioned in conversation with my family Dr on Mar 8, 8:45 am. I am going to ask him to fast track my RNY and see if while they are open if they can do the surgery while they are in there. Everyone says it doesn't hurt to ask. Anyway that is it for now. Will write later with more updates.

Christmas 2010

Dec 28, 2010

Well I got through my first Christmas without my MOM. It was very difficult but all the family pulled together. We lit a candle for her just so she knew she was with us. I recided a beautiful poem my sister-in-law sent me on Boxsing Day. It was very comforting. I tried not to overeat. I stayed away from all the goodies and drank lots of water. I am now concentrating on getting over this year and hopefully I will get a call for orientation to Guelph soon. My husband and I leave for Mexico on an all inclusive trip Jan 18 and I am really looking forward to the break. I want to thank all of my new friends i have met on here. I am really inspired by them and I am excited for those who will be having their surgery soon. I know they have waited a very long time.

Well that is it for now.

Love to all

Just feel like it

Dec 06, 2010

I thought that I would post just to say I lost 7 pounds. I know that isn't a huge amount, but finally all my hard work is showing up on the scales. I was worried that I was working out and muscle weighs more then fat. I am glad that the scales are showing something. I am still waiting to find out about an orientation date, It looks like it is going to be a year to get a orientation date. So many people are needing this surgery and there are not enough orientation dates foe everyone. Guelph office is hopefully going to be able to get more orientation dates so that at least I will get the orientation over with and can start booking appointments. I am planning on getting my blood work done tomorrow and the doctor has asked for an H-Pylori test. At least I will have that test over and done with and if they find that virus I can get treatment for it right away. I am also getting cholesterol levels tested too. I hope that they have dropped. I plan to go to the gym tomorrow and get my but off the couch. Well that is all for tonight.

Take Care

Set back

Dec 02, 2010

Man another setback today. I called Linda at the Guelph Bariatric Clinic and she said that she has been told to stop booking orientarion dates as she was already into Septemeber of 2011. I can't believe it, I am crushed. She said they are onlly allowed 2 orientarion days per month and she finished all the referals for September and got asked to stop. My name is at the top of the next months list and I am so frustrated right now. I feel like crawling up in a ball and crying. It is such a roller coaster that you are on while you wait for this do-over that sometimes you feel really lost and down. I sure hope something happens and she can start booking appointments soon before I explode!
