Still Waiting

Nov 17, 2010

I went to the Gym today and I got weighed on their scales and I have lost 3 pounds. I am pleased about that. I have been recording everything I eat. I am also getting off the one antidepressant I was on. I have been put on a weening off process so I will be off them by 10 weeks from this week. On the other hand. I am really worried that my time will not come. My referall went in October 3rd and I am anxiously waiting for that letter. The letter seems to be what I am focusing on and I can't seem to stop. I hear about all these other people having their surgery and becoming successful and I just want my do over. I will continue to eat 6 small meals per day and drink the 8 glasses of water a day. I am really hoping that I am going to handle the holdiays without over eating or emotional eating as it is the first Christmas without my Mom.

Well that is all for now

Update to My Journey

Nov 11, 2010

Today is a rough day. It is 6 months since my mother passed away. I can't believe it has been 6 months! I never thought I could go i day without her but I guess you have to move on. I really miss her. I am not resorting to emotional eating though. I went to see my Dad at the home and we went out for lunch. I didn't over eat. I have not been looking for sweets etc. I am proud that I am dealing with this time positively. I think I am learning.  I called Guelph the other day and I was told by Linda that I will probably not here about orientation until Spring. I am disappointed as I was told that I would probably get in January or February orientation. When I heard that news yesterday I was so depressed. Now I have decided to not brood about it and try to wait patiently and be happy for those that are booked for surgery. I am looking at it in a positive way.
That's it for now

My Journey Begins

Oct 11, 2010

I am just starting the process and have a lot of questions. I currently weigh 316 pounds. My doctor has faxed over the refer all for the GNY surgery. I live in Guelph and so of course I will see the doctors here. I was just wondering what happens now? Do I get a letter or a phone call. No one seems to be able to tell me.

Thanks
Sharon

Well I  have been raading some really good books about the surgery "Weight Loss Surgery Is It Right for you" and The Idiots Guide to Weight Loss Surgery. It has really helped. Plus I have met some amazing friends on here. I am going to the gym three times per week and the trainer there recommened that I try grazing (eating 6 small meals) I really am finding that this is helping a lot. I lost 5 pounds alredy. I am drinking 8 glasses of water per day and I am trying to be patient for that letter that will come. I called the Guelph office yesterday and Linda said that they have my name they have sent the referal to Hamilton for approval. So I continue to sit on the side lines but I know mytime will come too. That's all for now
