Today I went to my PCP, my appointment was at 11: oo but he did not see me until 12:30 and then when I got there I felt like he was unsupportive as I need him to be. I am on Medicaid and the doctor he referred me to would not be covered by Medicaid because they were not a center of excellence so Medicaid would not pay for me to have my surgery there. I called Dr. Duncan's office in Atlanta and attended the seminar which is two hours and half from Augusta. I had to pay someone to take me there because I don't drive, but anyways, I have set up some of the clearances I needed in Atlanta but I need a cardiologist and my doctor refuses to refer me to one he said that that's the surgeon's responsibility and that he would only support me having the lap band surgery when I would prefer to have the RNY he told me he was the doctor and he had done more research on the subject than me. This is really upsetting because I have been working hard to get everything together and now I feel that it may fall apart. Plus, I still haven’t heard from the surgeon’s office yet about my approval as a patient. I am so nervous. I am feeling so confused right now. So please keep me in your prayers and I hope I can get everything on track although I am a little frustrated right now.
