It has been a few days since my surgery and I am starting to feel better. I cannot tell a lie, it hurts like hell. I am so confused I'm not sure what to eat or when, the protein drinks are not going down so smoothly either. But I am glad I had this done and cant wait to get back to my regular routine. The whole experience has been interesting. My hospital stay was good the doctors came nice and early and I was released a day earlier than I expected. The nurse were great and I had a great roommate. (not there for the same reason). I feel my energy coming back but my body is not bouncing as quickly.
IT IS ALL WORTH IT!!!!

Tomorrow is my big day. How can I be so excited and scared about the same thing. I know this is right for me. I am ready and cant wait to celebrate my new birthday tomorrow.

I am so excited I passed my Cardiac stress test today. My Cardiologist cleared me for surgery. Also last time I saw my PCP my iron blood count was a little low, so he made me take my bloodwork over again. I was so afraid I was anemic, turns out my lastest bloodwork came back normal. Thank goodness. I am really freakin out now. I think this surgery might very well happen now. I have been going through test and supervised diets not to mention all the new medications for things I wasnt aware I had prior to starting this process, and I just cant believe 8 months later this might really happen. I almost dont want to say the words out loud. I dont want to jinks myself.

I am so happy. I found out that my surgery was approved by my insurance company. I thought this was never going to happen. I finally got my glucose down to 160 or so and the insurance company seemed to except these numbers as appossed to 300's that were originally submitted. I still have to take a stress test which is scheduled for friday and I get a clearance letter from my cardiologist I should be good to go. I am so scared but I know this is the right thing to do. I want to be around for my children and set a good example for them.

I went to my pre-op class today. I am so glad they have these classes. I was able to ask questions and got immediate answers. I still have not been approved by ins company yet. Dr's office said hopefully by Monday, I should have an answer. I am so impatient!!! I have lost 21 lbs since my journey started, I realize thats just a drop in the bucket, but it really feels good!!!!!

I have had my surgery date for about 2 weeks now and have recently found out that I may have to pospone the procedure until I can lower my glucose level. I went to primary Dr. today and he changed my med to hopefully lower glucose levels. I hope I can get to a safe level in time for surgery on the 25th of FEb.
