Little over 3 years out

Jun 21, 2015

I don't get on here much but noticed my last post was almost a year ago. I am still at 90 lbs loss. I have gained up to 10 lbs but manage to loose it. I am still working towards loosing another 40 but gosh being 3 years out its much harder to loose. Not sure why. I still can't eat a lot at once and my sleeve has not stretched. But I am still happy with my success! Life is good! Dr David Kim and his office is amazing and I continue to go to my check ups. The after surgery support for life is amazing!! The private patient only facebook support group is incredible! We do lots of fitness events, 5ks/10ks, get togethers, etc. I have met many new friends on my journey!

A little over 2 yrs out

Jun 22, 2014

So I haven't kept up with my page....I am now a little over 90 lbs lighter and still working to loose another 50. It became hard once I started adding carbs back in. Became a sugar addict again. I am very pleased with the journey though. I am able to do soooo many activities at ease now like zumba, bike riding, even zip lined!! I have no regrets.

Day 10 NO...NO

Feb 08, 2012

Today I thought I would make my protein shake with skim milk, that was a NOOO NOOO. I called the nurse at my doc, she said it sounded like I was Lactose intolerant now. I haven't been in so much pain in my upper gut since surgery day. Very uncomfortable. ugh. Im also trying to figure out how to make my own salt free or low salt creamy soups, because the resurant soups are way too saltly. Actually made me gain a few pounds! So heres goes my journey to figure out how to make a soup or two.

Surgery Day Jan 30th and hospital time....

Feb 04, 2012

I had to be at the hospital at 3:30 in the morning. I went in feeling pretty good, excited! They took me in preop about 5 in the morning. That was when I started getting pretty nervous, changing into the gown, getting iv put in, asked a jillion questions by doctors and nurses. By 6 they were giving me my Shot glass, they called it, the pre meds to help me chill out and then I started crying all the way to the surgery room. They helped me get on the table, put a mask over my face and I was out within seconds. Woke up around 10 or so? I was in and out, the nurses were very concerned about my high blood pressure. I had never had hbp ever. I stayed in recovery for a while. Later on wheeled into my amazing, what looked like a condo of a room! But I was still in and out. My hubby, parents and aunt and uncle were waiting for me. A few hours later they are making me get up and walk!! Seriously, the hardest thing ever. lol I did it though. That night the nurses constantly were in and out, the leg compressions drove me nuts. I just wanted to sleep and not talk to anyone! Oh and I was sooo thirsty and all they gave me were these nasty lemon swaps to suck on.

Day 2 was a little better, I went for the Gastro swollow "leak" test at 7:30 am, that med was sooo nasty! I did pass the test, but threw up the med when I got back to my room. I dry heaved alot on Day 2, but only threw up once. The nausas meds worked great. I slept alot, but the stinking nurses kept bugging me to get up and walk, so I walked about 3 times that day. I was excited about apple and grape juice and water though!!

Day 3 I was much better, I got to go home that morning. My bl was still up a little. They gave me a bl pill, which I had never taken in my life, I had an allergic reaction! Had to take a benedryl when I got home and slept the rest of the day.

Day 3-6, having a hard time getting in all the liquids, sleeping 12 hours a night with a few potty breaks. Very weak and sore. Day 6 no nap in the day, incisions are healing well, looking forward to starting my meal replacement shakes tomorrow! There is hope and food cometh soon!!

Skinny Tiff's journey.....

Feb 04, 2012

Hey there, so Im gonna make this short. I have ate my way through some MAJOR issues in my life and marriage in the past. I got close to 300 lbs. I had done so many diets and exercise programs, etc, but nothing worked for me. My husband was out of a job for 2 1/2 years, and fell upon an amazing government part time job where the insurance covered Baratric surgery. I knew God had opened this door for not just him, but me too!! I started the insurance process Sept 2011. I managed to loose 31 lbs before surgery, best thing I ever did with the help of my dietician and diet pills. I had my surgery Feb 30th and today is Day 6, I have lost 5 lbs this week alone. Total of 36 lbs!!! I have forgiven all my past issues inside of me and now the outward resemblence of it is coming off!! I will be free!! God is good!
