One week down, one to go!

By this time a week from now, I will have crossed over to Bandland!!!!  Wow.  The pre-op diet is going alright, I am still hungry.  Like, stomach growling hungry.  But I've been able to handle it alright.  I've found about a half dozen ways to jazz up the Medifast cream of chicken soup.    I went to Walgreen's and got my prescriptions filled that Dr. C gave me.  The pharmacist made a bad face when she smelled the liquid Lortab, so I had them add some grape flavoring.  LOL  I did forget to pick up the Citrical that Erin recommended.  I'll have to get that next week.  For anyone stopping by, have a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, and Happy Winter Solstice!

Last night was a MAJOR test of will!    I went to my niece's birthday party, she's two now.  I nuked some beef broth and put it in a travel mug to drink on the way out there.  My sister had nine layer dip, hanky pankies, chocolate cheesecake dip, wine, chilled shrimp.  Wah!!!!  That was tough.

Tonight my family is having what was supposed to be an early Christmas dinner due to my preop diet and my nephew leaving to see his dad.  This was all planned when I was thinking that the preop diet was only 10 days.  Mom called this morning to say that everyone would understand if I didn't come over and put myself through that.  As hungry as I am now, I'm glad they are understanding, because I don't think I could handle it.  Thank goodness my family is supportive!!!

I had my nut. class this morning.  Erin is sooo darned funny!  Me and the other girl kept getting Erin off-track.  HEHE  It was funny, because K, the other girl, she and I had some similiarities in our medical history.  She kept saying I was trying to be like her, etc.  We had a really good time!  

Then Erin busted my bubble.  Darn you girl!!!  j/k!  Something I saw on Dr. C's website made me think the preop diet was 10 days.  Uh uh.  Count 'em, 14!!!!  So that meant starting TODAY!  ACK!!!!!  :-(  My family was going to do Christmas dinner early, since my nephew would be out of town and I would be well into the preop diet by then.  Wah!  Okay, okay, I know it's only for two weeks.  It's not the end of the world.  Glad I got my Chipotle fix in this week!!!  I'll survive.  :-)

There was good news today though.  I've lost another three pounds, just by using the CPAP machine!  That's a total of 10!!!!  Wahooo!

WOOHOO!!!  I'll be banded by Dr. Curry on 12/29 at 12:30!  I go for my nut. class next Friday and pre-op testing right after that.  Wow, wow, wow!!!!  I'm so excited and nervous!  Could this finally be the end of my being obese??

  Well, no word yet from Anthem.  And I'm leaving for my cruise Sunday.  WOOHOO!!!  I can't believe it's finally here!  I let Tracy at Dr. C's office know about my trip.  She said if she hears anything, she'll send me an email.  I'll be able to check it while I'm on the cruise.    LOL  I'm going to *try* to follow Dr. C's advice of not gaining *too* much on the cruise.  Know how hard that's gonna be?!  There's a seafood buffet the first night, with King crab, smoked salmon, shrimp!!!  But I'll get plenty of walking in, with the ports and the size of the ship.

I had my psych eval on Monday and that all went well.  Dr. Sampang was super nice and the whole thing lasted maybe 40 minutes.  She said she'd get her report to Dr. C in a day or two.  Charity said to call Tracy later in the week about the insurance filing.  

So, figuring that Tracy woudn't see it until tomorrow when she got into the office, I sent an email to her at 7:30 tonight.  I asked her if she has everything she needs to file.  She replied 20 minutes later to say my claim was filed today.  OMG!!!!  =-0  (BTW, web gods, we need smilies for our blogs :-)  )  I think I could have an answer by Monday.  YES!!!

Psych eval scheduled

I made my psych eval appointment yesterday.  It's set for Monday, 11/13.  While I had Charity on the phone, I asked her if it's possible to get my surgery scheduled by the end of the year.  Since I have Anthem, she said that it's pretty likely.  Woohoo!!!

Well, it seems the Anthem rep I spoke to a couple months ago didn't know what she was talking about.  Or they were hoping I'd be discouraged with on 50% coverage.  I made my way through my employer's intranet to find the summary of coverage for my medical.  It's 80%.  Yippeee!!!!  So, I'm calling tomorrow to make the psych eval appointment and will ask if I can get this done mid-December.  Can't eat all that high calorie holiday food if I'm still on mushies, right?  :-)

I just logged into the patient portal on Dr. Curry's site and see that they've apparently received my records from my current PCP. I need to mail out to them tomorrow the records for the prior doc. I'll call them to schedule the psych consult and pay the program fee. Why do I have a feeling things are about to move pretty quickly?? I still am toying with the idea of seeing what my coverage options would be if I up my level of insurance at the beginning of the year. But the open enrollment period doesn't start until something like Oct. 18th. :-( Hmmm, what to do?? I think I'll call the ins. coordinator and see what she thinks.

I got a call from Smith's office. Much as I expected, Debbie was her snotty self. She'd noticed I needed a copy of my records for two doctors. She said they charge for record transfers and she could provide one copy and only charge me once, or she could send out a copy to each of the doctors and charge me twice. LOL No wonder I left that doctor!!! I told her to just make one copy and I'd pick it up. She will call me when it's ready.
