10 Years Out

Feb 22, 2022

10 years ago today I made a life altering decision, I had RNY surgery.  It by far saved my life.  As of today I have maintained a weight loss of 178 lbs.  During COVID and then a complete hip replacement I had regain weight bounce back. Today I have 8 more pounds to go to be at my goal weight. It hasn't always been easy but it definitely is worth all the effort and frustrations.

WHAT TO DO WITH A 10 LBS GAIN

May 08, 2016

Four years out and doing well, perfect weight for me is 132-135. I have been maintaining within this range but quit smoking 4 weeks ago and have gained 10 pounds.  This is really freaking me out...please help with motivation.  I started my journey at 326 pounds and have been so diligent in my plan, but this snacking really has me concerned.  My dress pants are snug and with the 10 pound gain it is almost a size....SCARED and CONCERNED

3 year anniversary of starting PreOp Diet Change

Nov 21, 2014

Well here it is, 3 years ago today I began a life changing diet plan.  My starting weight was 326 and in the 3 month supervised period I dropped 39 lbs and had a surgical weight of 288.  Since the RNY procedure my life has changed 180 degress.  I live once again, enjoy having pictures taken and have an EXTENSIVE wardrobe for the first time in my entire life. I am wearing a size 8 petite pant and a small top...whoever would of thought this life change could exist.  Truly the greatest gift I have ever received.  Life is good. This is work and something I monitor closely but its so worth every effort.  For those consider a surgical option it is amazing but you must commit to life style change.

Transformation Continues Dreams do come True

Sep 01, 2014

It's been a while since I wrote a blog post but today I am happily surprised.  I started this journey on 11/18/11 with my consultation and starting weight of 326, my preop diet on 11/21/11 for the 3 month supervised insurance requirement. I lost 38 pounds on the 3 month requirement with substituting 2 meals with protein shakes and then a high protein low carb dinner. My surgery weight was 288 and as of today I have lost an amazing 188 pound and have a fighting weight of 138.

Dreams can come true...today is 9/1/14 and I have never felt better. So proud but please know this is work, I monitor 2x a week and still have my protein coffee for breakfast daily.  I do indulge in some chips or 1-2 cookies daily.  I have learned that portion control and moderation is the KEY to keeping the weight in check. Still walking my Bella for my exercise and the extra energy gained from the weight loss makes it so much easier to stay/remain active.

Best to all

2 Year Follow Up

Mar 15, 2014

This week I had my 2 year follow up with Dr Hanna.  All my levels are good except for B12 that is over 1900 and he said I can go to every other day with the B12 supplement.  Feeling pretty good, still having major issues with sleeping through the night.  Wake up between 2-3 and cant go back to sleep.  Under some stress with working so much with the 2 jobs and this may be a major part of my anxiety.  Hopefully only 1 more week with all these extra hours and then things should ease a bit.

Total weight loss 183 pounds, only 6 pound loss in the past 6 months.  Doing a maintenance plan now, still proud of walking Bella each and every day for 30-45 minutes.  Watching my intake still loving my protein coffee for breakfast, light lunch and a reduce food plan for dinner.   Amazing how the body get by just fine with limited amounts of food!

Best to all

surprised this morning

Mar 08, 2014

I started working a couple of part time jobs and therefore my schedule has been more hectic.  Coming home later in the evening and having less time for myself I was surprised when I weighed in this morning.  I have lost a bit over 3 lbs in the past 2 weeks.  Goal weight was 145, weighed in this morning at 142.4....Do not want to lose any more weight, clothes will not fit well, can't afford to buy or alter the wardrobe.  Since losing my weight I have spent in excess of 4k on a new wardrobe and love what I have purchased.  I now have a 5 pound cushion and that is fine....no more needed!!! Hopefully :)

2 year anniversary

Feb 25, 2014

Well here it is 2 years and 1 week out from my RNY.  This gift has been more then I could of ever hoped for.  I am at my goal weight, maintaining for over 6 months and monitor my weight 2 times a week.  Keeping a watchful eye on the maintenace plan is certainly helpful.  I give my body a 4 pound swing level and reel it back in when necessary.  I do not feel deprived at all, learning to eat more healthy and have increased my carbs a minimum.  I am not strictly dieting, but ever mindful of my carbs, and sugar.

My NSV has been achieved wearing a size 10 levi jean mid rise and looking pretty good if I don't mind saying so.  This can be done, hard work, nose to the plan, walking daily and I lost 181+ pounds.

Celebrating my LIVING LIFE again
