I actually started the WLS process a few years ago, but due to some hiccups along the way, it didn't happen. A year ago, my sister was actually checking into it and I told her that I was wanting to go for it again. Her, my mom and myself went to a seminar in the next city. Due to the nature of that particular physcian's office & practices, we decided to go back to Grand Health Partners in Grand Rapids. My sister did not go on this journey, but my mom and I did. Because of insurance requirements, I had to first do 6 months of a physician supervised weightloss plan. My mom, however, did not. She was able to have her procedure in September 2010. I completed my 6 months in December 2010, but since it was at the holidays, I did decided to wait until tax time to have my procedure. I had it one week ago today on March 2, 2011. So far so good. I had the vertical sleeve, and I am amazed at the lack of pain with this procedure!! The only complaints I have is being so weak and tired. I'm assuming it's from the lack of calories and normal post surgery recovery.
