Let see, I just had gastric bypass on Monday, August 10th. Everything is new to me. I feel great. My surgery was problem free and I came home from the hospital yesterday (Wednesday).
Like most people I have struggled with my weight all of adult life. About two years ago my doctor mentioned that I should consider barariatric treatment and we started a "Physician Supervised Diet." Of course I lost some weight that year (about 30 pounds) ... then spent the next year in "research" mode and gained it all back plus a few bonus pounds. Sounds familiar?? I bet.
So I finally decided that yo-yoing in the 200s was over for me and it was time to go for it! I then went through the routine of calling around and attending a "info" class. I then registered for the group class w/ individual consult. I started back on a "Physician Supervised Diet" and BCBS approved my surgery!
Cha..Cha... I didn't think it would happen! I called back and made the insurance girl check it several times. Finally I think she was fed up with me and my anxiety and said "You know I would not book you for surgery if you were not approved! " Check! That as Friday before the surgery!
So now I am tender and sleeping at home is a bear, but I am on my road to a healthy lifestyle and a thinner bod!
