I am 22 and in college. I'm going to major in English and get my teaching certificate. I plan to teach high school.

I have been struggling with my weight since I was as young as 8. No matter what I did or ate I seemed to keep getting bigger. In September 2011 I was diagnosed with PCOS aka Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It seems that most PCOS women are obese and struggle with weightloss.

My reasons for having gastric bypass are many. Health, medical, etc. One of the biggest though would be my desire to one day have a child. Not yet, but in my late 20's or early 30's. Because of my PCOS my chances of ever conceiving are slim. My doctor told me if I wanted to eventually have children I'd have to lose the weight. So I decided that this surgery was my best bet.
