All Insurance Stuff Done

Nov 03, 2009

I had psych evaluation Monday and passed.  She said my surgeon should have her letter in a week. So then they will have everything needed now to send to BCBS.  I do not know if they will send it immediately or wait for me to get under 400 pounds.  So far I have lost 14 pounds on Weight Watchers in seven weeks.  So not bad.  Go to weigh in today, hopefully it will be a good loss.

I have sent off for protein samples from all kinds of places.  They are coming in daily.  From what I have read here at OH message boards is to hold on to them until after surgery just in case my taste changes.  I am wanting to slowly get things I will need for after surgery.  I need to make a list up.

Off to weigh in.

The Ball is rolling

Oct 23, 2009

Had first appointment with surgeon on Tuesday.  Loved him.  He went over everything and answered all my questions.  He wants me under 400 for the surgery.  That should not be too hard to lose.  I have already lost 12 pounds with Weight Watchers so I am going to continue with that.

The next day I went to my PCP and got the information the surgeon needed.  Also got my flu shot.  I call the psych for evaluation and she was going to check my insurance and call me back.  Still havent heard from her.

Today I went back to surgeons office for appointment with Nutritionist.  It went great she told me to keep doing weight watchers for now and bring in my food journal in 3 weeks.  I gave them all the information they needed from my PCP and bloodwork.  All I need now is to get the psych evaluation and they will have all that is needed to send into insurance.  If I do not hear from the psych Monday I am going to call another one for an appointment.

I am excited and researching everything I need to know for pre and post op.

Starting process again

Oct 13, 2009

Since it has been a year since my lumpectomy and 8 months since radiation, I am starting process again for WLS.

I have an appointment Tuesday the 20th.  My BMI is 65.8 at the moment, the doctor will not operate until it is 60 or below.  I am excited and scared a bit.  But I will be more informed Tuesday.

WLS on hold for a bit

Sep 15, 2008

Well ya know its how things happen sometimes.  After decided I really wanted WLS and was excited and starting my journey.  There is a bump in the road.  I have all my yearly things done in July or August, physical, GYN, mammogram.  Well I had some microcalifications, now they had been there for a year and I was getting mammograms every six months.  They noticed a change.  So I had to have a wire localization lumpectomy on 8/29.  On 9/5 got the pathology report.  Ductual carcinoma in stiu, two clusters, 1.2cm and 0.4 cm, ER+/PR+, they got it all with clear margins.  Now I have to have radiation for six weeks.  I will know more about that Thursday as I have appointment with radiation oncologist then.  The breast surgeon told me I should be fine to have WLS after the first of the year.  The oncologist is not having me take tamoxifen or Avista as I have disordered proliferative endometrium and the risk outweighs the benefit for me.  So I am going to keep moving on and try to lose some weight on my own and get back on track with the WLS in January.  Keeping positive thoughts that it all goes as planned.
