5 Days Until Surgery

Well, I have only 5 days until my surgery. I'm so excited, but at the same time I am scared. I know it's perfectly normal and everyone gets scared. I'm trusting in God to take care of me. I have put my faith in Him. My liquid diet is going pretty well. Ten days out on it. I don't have any problems with it anymore, I guess my body has gotten used to it by now. I have lost 9 pounds on the pre-op diet so far (since last Tuesday). I'm going to hang in there.
Met the anesthologist

Well, yesterday I met the anestheologist. So now I'm ready to roll. He was real nice and asked me a bunch of questions. The nurses there were super nice, especially Peggy. The best thing was that I have already lost 4 pounds in 2 1/2 days. Neato for the pre-op liquid diet. That gave me a lot of encouragment and motivation to keep going. Today is my 4th day on the pre-op diet and so far, it is the easiest. The first 3 days were very rough and was constantly hungry and sick. A lot of it has eased off, just starting to feel really tired.
2nd Day on liquid pre-op diet

Well, I am only 2 days out on my pre-op liquid diet. Today was a much better day than yesterday. Yesterday was very rough for me. I just taking it one day at a time. Eve now, my stomach is growling. I pray for the Good Lord to give me the strength to get through this, especially the next 12 days. I just want to chew something. Will post again soon.
Getting Ready for 2 week fasting

Well today I'm preparing myself for my 2 week fasting, which starts tomorrow. This is the part that I am dreading. I'm giving up my best friend, FOOD. It has always been my comforter as long as I can remember. I sat last night and cried. But, I look at it this way, I will soon be a happier, and a healthier new me. I went and bought me a "motivation outfit" it's hanging on my fireplace. I have prayed to God that he gives me the strength to get this. He has never let me down before and that he will be will be with me every step of the way. I am a strong person. The outcome will beautiful. Still need prayers though.
I met with Dr. Melkonian today

Well today I met with Dr. Melkonian for first time. I was very impressed with him. He seemed very sweet and caring. When he walked into the room, I had a very good feeling, a peace, you might say. He answered all of my questions and was in no hurry to leave the room like most doctors. He explained the surgery along with the risks and complications that can occur. I definetly trust Dr. Melkonian with my surgery. I can't wait until July 3, 2007. I can't wait to be on the losing side.

Well, I got a phone call today. My surgery date is July 3. I'm so happy and very excited. I can't wait. I go to meet Dr. Melkonian on June11. I'm kind of nervous about that. Heard he's a real hoot!!! All will work out.
