Hello, my hame is Todd and I am 35 years old and have been overwieght since the 3rd grade.  I've never really tired to lose weight until the last few years when I started to develop high blood pressure and severe back pain and sleep apnea.  My highest weight is currently at 404ibs with a BMI of 60.  At 5' 8", that's life threatening and feel its high time I get my life in order.  When it started to become difficult to bend down and tie my shoes and was out of breath after walking to my car, I knew I had to do something about my weight immediately.

My PCP has requested I look into gastric bypass and I have since begun the journey.  I am currently going through all the steps to get approved through United Healthcare and getting my Psych, Cardio & Pulminary clearance.  I'm hoping I don't have any setbacks and hope I can get approved for surgery and on the table sometime in the beginning of October 2008.  Looking forward to the journey so I can one day fit into an airplane seat, go to an amusement pack, fit into a small car and stand without sweating and back pain.

I guess the hardest thing for me right now is to try to invision myself 200+ Ibs lighter.  Since I've really failed at everything I've every tried in my life, in the back of my mind, I kind of feel that I will fail at this and inevitably be heavy for the rest of my shortened life.  The problem is, I don't know what its like to be fit and active, so I really don't know what I'm losing out on.

I know that WLS is the right thing and have the makeup mentally to succeed at this.
