GETTING CLOSER

Sep 17, 2008

I went for my second sleep study last night and then to the Nutritionist today,  I paid $55.  for some papers that told me everything I already know, lol,  I was a little disapointed to say the least I thought she would have more information for me and talk some more,  I was in her office I say ten minutes..  This sleep study went well,  they gave me a pill so I might actually go to sleep this time.  I didnt feel like I ever fell asleep but I guess I did.  The tech guy was French and we had a nice talk.

I just have my last diet checkin and then submit to insurance, I am running little behind because of some things and I have to wait for some money to pay the rest of my $500.00 fee to the Surgeon.  But I know it will all happen right on time.

Looking at the short list of what I will be able to eat is kinda scary,  lol

My husband asked me the other day if I was really serious about this, lol,  I just laughed at him and said "Do you think I been going to the Dr's for 6 months for nothing"?   LOL ,  makes me wonder if hes not too happy about it

The Women in the Mirror

Sep 01, 2008

THE WOMEN IN THE MIRROR

Walking past the mirrored glass,
I take a timid peak,
I see a woman staring back,
I'm too choked up to speak.

The puffiness, at last, is gone,
The skin pink and glowing,
The many pounds that melted off,
Finally, now is showing.

Hard to believe until recently,
This same woman was dying,
Stuffing the food to ease the pain,
Heartbroken and crying.

Life evolved around each snack,
She lived for every meal,
Anything to numb the hurt,
She didn't want to feel.

When did she get so pretty?
When did God remove the grief?
How did this miracle happen?
Who provided this relief?

What a gift! A second chance!
I thank God everyday,
For his grace in showing me,
There is a better way.

I walk, I dance, I make love too,
My heart is filled with gladness,
I'm out of bondage, I'm out of pain,
There is no room for sadness.

This woman in the mirror,
Smiles softly back at me,
She has good cause to be so pleased,
She's finally been set free!

clothes

Jun 25, 2008

I went to the thrift store today to just look around,  I ventured into the regular sized clothes and I cant beleive what selection there is,    I got all excited thinking about how many clothes I will be buying,  I love to shop at thrift stores anyway.    Since looking at the dresses and suits I started thinking that I want a job where I can dress nice,  I havent thought like that in many many years,   I know great things are coming my way thanks to this surgery

sleep apnea

Jun 23, 2008

Went back to the Pulmonologist today she wanted to see me in three months from my last visit when I was so sick.  I asked her if she had gotten my sleep study results or were they sent to the surgeon,  she fumbled with the papers and said she had them and she read and told me I have to have another sleep study, the first one was in March,  they didnt call me and tell me I needed another one, so I am kinda ticked,  I have problems with most Drs.  anyway,  I have to have this test with the machine on,  she said I stop breathing 11 times and hour and the oxygen drops  and thats why I feel like crap all the time and sleep all day trying to catch up.  She doesnt know if its from my weight alone so after I lose 20% of my weight she will test me again,  I have always slept alot even when I was a kid so I kinda think I might have the central sleep apnea which is not a good thing.  So I guess I will be having the test soon,  my car broke down on the way from Raleigh, its about hour and half from where I live,  so now I am carless

On a good note,  my son Jeremy graduation,  I am so proud of him and we are going back home to Florida for a couple weeks to have his grad party with family and friends so we are looking forward to that.

Bless you all

just waiting

Jun 11, 2008

I am still having thyroid problems,  my tests keep fluctuating if I am taking meds or not,  I have had 4 blood tests,  2 show hypothyroid and 2 show normal, I am trying to get to a specialist but my primary care is taking her darn time,  I have to get it straightened out or they wont do the wls surgery.  I think its so messed up for so long thats why its acting crazy with the blood tests. Oh well

I am still doing my 6 month diet,  I have not lost anything maybe 2 pounds but I am not gaining.  It will be up the end of August and then they will submit to insurance,  they said medicaid takes around a month to authorize so hopefully I will be on the skinny side early October,  I cant wait,  I have not told any of my family who is out of state,  only my husband and the youngest son at home knows.  I want to surprise them and I dont want any negativity or fears so that why I am doing this.  My two older sons would flip out if they knew,  lol.  My sister might think I have lost my mind again,  lol.  but after the shock I know they would support me.  Its hard not to say anything I have almost sliped twice on the phone with them.  I will see them all next month and I am at my highest weight and I have gained 18 pounds since I seen them last,  I really want to blurt out that hey,  "I am really fat but I wont be for long" but I wont say anything.

Well thats all for now,  been busy with my sons graduation,  been very stressful for me,  I will be so happy when I have more energy.
