While I have loved the life I live, it certainly has taken it's toll on me.  A single parent of three daughters, working sometimes three jobs to keep food on the table and a roof overhead, I barely had time left for me.  In 1996, I was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease that is sometimes dibilating.   And the events that followed 9/11 left me in a very deep depression.  Through it all, God has been by my side, and provided for all the needs of my children and me.  I married a wonderful christian man in 2006, and life has gotten easier in most ways.

Next month I will celebrate turning 50 years old!  This is an exciting year of change for me.  My youngest daughter will be graduating and heading off to college in the fall, leaving us with an empty nest, so to speak.  We are expecting our second grandchild in June.  And my years of experience and training combined have brought me to a new point in my career path.  But none of this can be joyful as long as my health continues to weigh me down.

That's why I made the decision to go forward with the Bariatric surgery.  I don't have to tell you what a process this has been, with many opportunities for me to turn back and not follow through with it.  But I have resolved to make these changes in my life, and to live the second have of my life better than the first half.

This is a new season of my life!  And how fitting that it would take place in the Spring of the year, and just weeks before I become FABULOUS 50!!!
