One Week Post Op

Jan 14, 2008

I had my one week post op doctor's visit today.  I lost 8 pounds this week.  This is less than I was hoping for, but certainly more than I've ever lost on any diet in one week.

They upped my iron as I'm anemic and moved me to pureed foods.  Other than that, I'm doing very well.  And, ecstatic to be on pureed foods!

3 Days Post Op

Jan 10, 2008

I thought my surgery would be called off due to a positive strep test the Thursday before my surgery date, but one call to Dr. Moazzez's office set my mind at ease.

I had surgery on Monday, 1/7/08, as well and left the hospital on Tuesday evening.  The nurses said I was trying to run a marathon in the hall; I was actually trying to convince my doctor to let me go home, so I could get some rest.  I did feel good on Tuesday, but by Wednesday, it felt like a Mack truck had run over me and backed up again for good measure.

My husband gave me a whole "poor me" day and is pushing me a little more today to get in gear... walk, drink water, drink protein, etc.  I guess these up and down days are to be expected, but overall, things are going really well with everything being tolerated well.  Now, I'm just dreaming of pureed foods; how sick!

Pre-Op Visit

Dec 27, 2007

Today was my pre-op visit with Dr. Moazzez.  My surgery is scheduled for January 7, 2008 and I am getting very nervous!  Dr. Moazzez went over the surgery again with me, as well as all possible complications that can occur and answered questions.  I was only down 3 lbs. since my original visit, but he didn't fuss at me since I'd just returned from a week long cruise and a family vacation immediately after for Christmas and he only told me to loose 10 lbs any way.

Dr. Moazzez does have a calming way about him and does explain everything very clearly and in as much detail as I want, which I really like.  Only days to go before my adventure begins...
