Dr. Fang took the time to answer all my questions and explain (In detail) the surgery to me. I felt well informed and prepared for the surgery. The morning of the surgery he came in and once again asked if I had any questions and informed my family how long the surgery would take, how long I would be in recovery. I saw either Dr. Fang or Dr. Juarez 2 times a day to check in on me. I felt very cared for by my surgeon. I had lap RNY but my incisions are very faint lines. He used steri stips so there were no stiches to deal with. During my post op appointment he went over my diet and what I could and could not eat at this stage, he went over exercise and what I could do at this stage. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering this, or any surgery...

I originally started out with Dr. Juarez. He seemed like a nice enough man, he thoroughly answered all my questions. My impression hasn't really changed because I haven't had the need or opportunity to see him again.
The office staff so far has been wonderful except for one person. I cannot say enough good things about Angelia (I hope I spelled her name correctly). She helped me get approved, she called me back whenever I had a question or problem, and when I had trouble getting Dr. Fang's scheduler to schedule my surgery, she interceded on my behalf, even though it wasn't her job and led me to the right person, Jennifer, the office manager, who got the job done in a matter of a few minutes. After waiting 2.5 weeks, I got my surgery date. They are both true professionals.

Haven't met Dr. Fang yet, however everything I've heard about him has been good... I met Dr. Juarez, and he was very personable, so since they are partners, I've got to think that they're similar in personalities..

I have a consult date with Dr. Juarez for February 7, 2002. I have not met him yet, but the lady I spoke with at his office was more than helpful! She took her time explaining what I need to bring to my appointment to make things go more quickly. So far so good. Will update after I actually met the doctor. :) Dr. Juarz was very nice and even though I knew his office was packed, he took his time answering my questions and didn't act like he was in a rush to run out like I would have expected.
I now have a surgery date, but it will be with Dr. Juarz's new associate Dr. Fang. I have a pre-op/consult with Dr. Fang on July 15th and my surgery will now be on August 20th,2003. I had to reschedule it to August from July 23rd due to work schedule conflicts. I figure I have waited this long, was is three more weeks in the larger scale (no pun intended)of things. Will update after my appointment with Dr.Fang. :) July 15th I had my consult with Dr.Fang. He was very professional and had a very nice personality. I am fine with him being my surgeon. He has not done as many surgeries as Dr. Juarez, but the way my sister put it to me made total sense. She said to think about how it is when you begin performing a task that you may not have done a whole lot of times before, how would you do it.......very carefully! ;)

I have my first schedule appointment with Dr Juarez on 4/1/03.

It is 4/1/03 I had my appointment at 3:40PM, I took off work early to get there in time to fillout any paperwork. I signed in and was called up to fill out some more paperwork. My luck I had all my medical paper work there on 1/03, I had my physic eval before and the letter was already there the only thing I need was my letter from my PCP. They state they faxed it but it was not in my file. I was very happy and please with the staff. I had all my stuff together which makes it easier for them. I put my medical records in order with my personal letter from my husband, mother, 2 friends and myself. To much paper work will not hurt. I first had my weight taken I am at 228lbs, wow! I went into the exam room and was met by the hansome PA Emil (sp) he was very nice, he asked a few questions want to know if I had any questions and I did a whole 2 questions, 1) I am a stomach sleeper I asked if there would be a problem sleeping on my stomach. (the answer was NO) 2) I hear some people get bigger pouches if they don't have as much to lose is this true? (answer kinda, the pouches are all the same size the intestines is what may be different on patients that are very large.

Per the PA I was a okay the lap... YEAH!!! Then he said stay here a few minutes and Dr Juarez will be in. I was kinda shocked. I didn't know I would see both. Dr Juarez came in (he is a wonderful man) and said I see you seen the PA and he thinks you would be good for the lap surgery and a few other small statments. Then turn to me and said what do you think. I said I think I am too. He asked if I had any questions I said no he said okay, you here from the office if approved via insurance they will set you up for an appointment. (They are running in August right now) but I have waited this long I am fine. Dr Juarez took my paper work to the front. The girl was only look at half of my paper work and said we need your medical for the past 3 years, I said it right there, she didn't listen, she said no I need it for the past 3 years I again said it is right there after 2 more tries at this she got it and said then she need my PCP letter. I stated it was faxed 2 times. I will go tomorrow and pick it up and hand it in. Other then that I have to wait 4 weeks if I don't here sooner. Over all the office was great the doctor was wonderful and the PA was terrific... I hope to hear soon about my approval!!! I will keep you up dated.

Due to a job situation I had to change doctors. My new surgeon is Dr. Fang I have not met him yet but have an appointment on 7/8/03 and he will be helping me to the other side with RYN Lap. on 7/15/03.

Dr. Fang is a new associate with Dr. Juarez. I thought he was pleasant and to the point during the conseltation. He was informative and asked me several times if I had questions.

The only thing that I wasn't totally happy with was that I thought that my consult was with Dr. Juarez. I didn't know that he had a new associate until I was at my appointment. Dr. Fang doesn't have as long of a wait time, being new to the practice. I checked his credentials and will have my surgery with him.

I recently met Dr. Fang and he impressed me as a confident and serious young man.

Dr Fang remained confident, serious and direct with his demeanor and in his response to my questions.

The office staff seemed cordial when engaged in conversation, but understandably stressed and busy from volume of patients.

I completely appreciated the Dr's open and willing attitude to discuss ALL my questions.

Aftercare was not empahsized anymore than my other questions or concerns.

The seriousness of the procedure along with risks were discussed in detail.

After one meeting my experience dictates my rating Dr Fang with an '8' in direct and concise communication.

Surgical competence is of the utmost importance and a compassionate bedside manner is a must.
