8/5/02 Dr. Nakeeb was very straight forward in his meeting with me. He was very concerned about the possible cost I could incur with any complications that arose out of surgery. ( I am a self pay patient) After he was assured that I understood the risks, he agreed that I was a good candidate for the laproscopic RNY. Which left me very happy. He really stressed all the risks but was also encouraging. They have a comprehensive aftercare program that lasts at least five years, which I found to be very comforting. They have a nutritionist that will work with you all the way through also. I will give further updates as I see Dr. Nakeeb for actual surgery.

Dr.Nakeeb was a very imformative surgeon & when we left I felt very educated and can not wait for final approval . The staff was very friendly.They seem to be very concerned with after care if insurance permits the would like to follow there patients for 60 months. Dr. Nakeeb explained all of the benefits and risk and I think my benefits out way all risk.

The surgeon was very supportive. He was easy going, and had ample experience. Of course I wanted a surgeon who had performed many of the Rouen Y procedures.

I have only visited the surgeon once since applying with the insurance company, my impression has not changed from my original visit.

The office staff is very dedicated, but also very busy. Persistence to keep your case at the top of their list is very important.

Aftercare is completely provided through outpatient visits to the dietician, and the physician at Froedert Memorial Luthern Hospital, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The surgeon was very open about the risks of surgery. They were honest and forthcoming with any information, but set my mind at ease with the relatively low level of overall risk. After speaking to many others who have had the surgery or know someone who did and have come through with flying colors, I am completely at ease with my decision. I have not heard of any negative experiences. Support of family and friends to this decision is extremely important.

The surgeon and staff in the clinic are very reliable and trustworthy. I have no doubt that I will be completely at ease during the surgical procedure.

I was very impressed when I first met with my doctor. I hear his bedside manner is very caring. His office staff is nice and helpful, except are very hard to get a hold of until you are approved for surgery.

I had a very calming first impression of Dr. Nakeeb. His eyes were very caring, and he seemed interested in helping me. Over time I have realized how funny he is, and he is a great teacher for the medical students, who are also great! The office staff is friendly and excited about your progress. When I had my laproscopic surgery, I was in the hospital for 3-4 days. I think I only saw Dr. Nakeed 2-3 times, and the rest of the time I was visited by medical students. Being a nurse, I understood that he has very important things to do. When I did see him, he reassured me the procedure "went beautifully." After care is very important to him. Living 2 hours from the hospital, it can be a drag to drive for follow ups, but they truely only want what is best for you. The binder I received before I was approved listed all of the tests and intervals I would need to have them performed. No surprises! Dr Nakeeb gets a 10/10 from me. He knows his stuff when it comes to the surgery. I work with ER doctors daily, and his bedside manner surpassed anyone I have met yet today, very funny and he has beautiful eyes!! I wish I would see him a little more often than the medical students, but they are cuties too.

Went for small group info session (formal scheduled). Dr Nakeeb seemed very personable and offered useful information.

Structured aftercare program was stressed a-lot, and was the reason I chose Froedtert / MCW program over others in Milwaukee area. 5 yr follow-up

Very up front about risks and in no way minimized these.

Although surgical competance is the first priority, an obese person needs extra emotional support and tender care.

I would feel better, if at some point, dr nakee4b himself would address his understanding of the emotions involved and the reason he has chosen to specialize in this area.

My surgery date is VERY close, and it seems kind of strange, that this doctor will be performing major surgery on me, and I have only met him once. My intent is not to criticize, in saying this, just to express my needs and feelings, in hopes that dr nakeeb will visit this site, since I see he has not. I think an occasional visit to such a site and perhaps occasionally attending a support group would be a good idea, because I feel a physician needs to treat the whole person, not just the disease, even if he has a skilled caring team that works with him as dr nakeeb does.

I met with Dr. Nakeeb and was pleasantly surprised. It is great to find a surgeon who is not only competent but nice. He answered my questions and seemed to have a good sense of humor. He seems to have done quite a few of these surgeries and seems very self-confident...which is calming. I am pleased to have him as my surgeon.

My surgery is now complete. I feel like I was in the Best hands having Dr. Nakeeb as a surgeon. Dr. Nakeeb is a very caring person and seemed to answer all of my post surgical questions and concerns. I am thrilled that he was my surgeon. Dr. Nakeeb is a wonderful surgeon.

I think he was a nice man, very competent he answered all my questions and seemed very confident in what he was doing. He even moved my appointment dates up because of some snags in insurance. his staff is awesome, deb is sooo full of energy and nice, and laura is soooo helpful i wish her luck on her new child in may. :) After care is a big part, they schedule all the way out to 5 years after! the only one i've heard of doing that. I would rate him and his staff a 10/10. I have nothing bad to say about him, he really cares about you and is competent as a surgeon and has good bedside manner.

My first meeting with Dr Nakeeb was fantastic. In general I do NOT like being around doctors - I always feel like they don't care about me as a person even though they hold my health & my life in their hands. Dr Nakeeb was like a breath of fresh air - I was comfortable with him immediately. There was no doubt in my mind that he sincerely cares about each of his patients. He has a great confidence & a good sense of humor. He was very insistent about aftercare & making sure that I understood exactly what I was getting myself into. He never dodged any of my questions, no matter how personal, gruesome or sensitive they were - he was always honest & direct.

I apparently didn't ask enough questions during my initial consultation with him because I turned up many more over the next couple of weeks. So my repeated calls to Laura & Susan (his staff) filled in the gaps - wonderfully. They were always prompt in returning calls & understanding about my panic moments. They answered all my questions and concerns. They did get a bit annoyed at my phone calls every couple of days to see if my insurance company had sent them the approval, but once that came through everything continued to sail smoothly.

I met with Deb (the nurse practitioner) during my final pre-op appointment & fell instantly in love with her. She is so compassionate & organized – I’m in good hands & have absolutely nothing to worry about. Any remaining jitters I had about going through this melted straight away after spending time talking through all the ‘left over’ details with her. She competently handles the details so that Dr Nakeeb can focus on being my surgeon – what a great team.

Between Dr Nakeeb, Deb, Laura, Susan & the staff at Frodtert, I feel like I am well and truly in the hands of caring professionals.

He was great. He really listened to me and looked me in the eye while sitting down talking to me which I think is very important in a Dr.
The staff was also very friendly and would answer your questions and return your calls promply!
There is nothing I can say that I dislike.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I give Dr Nakeeb a 12, all the staff at freodert was execallent! There is one female on here that claims he butchered her, well look at all of the rest of DR Nakeeb's reviews and you will see out of all of them she is the only one that gives him a negitive comment ( I would sue her for slander but I'm not the DR) Nakeeb is a wonderful DR and surgeon I've never had one doubt of regret having him do my surgery and I suggust him to everyone!!
