Bay Bariatrics Bariatric Center

He was very soft spoken. My impression of him is still the same. His staff was very friendly and helpful. His follow up is lacking. That is my only complaint. The fact that we are in different states I'm sure is a big part of it. I think he is a very competent surgeon and his bedside manner was good.

I really like my Doctor, I have heard great things about him.
His office staff is so wonderful I had so many questions for them and they never made me feel bad just happy and hopeful
That this is a Man/Doc you can trust
The Doctor went over every thing and took his time and ask me what I thought and it was great.

My first impression of Dr. T. was he is serious. But he knew what he was talking about and made me feel comfortable with my decision.
Robin, his assistant who does most of the questions and answers was just awesome. She really let me pick her brain. And I asked some "pointed" questions. She was really honest and I needed to hear that you are not magically healed of wanting to sit down and eat half a dozen donuts from Taylor Maid.
We need to find ways of fulfilling our need to eat. My theory is, the lighter I get the more things I will be doing that I couldn't do due to pain.
Dr. T. has a great after care program and of course the support group for those looking into surgery, pre and post surgery!
Dr. T. seems to be very serious and I love to laugh so we maybe didn't gel well that way. But I have only seen him one time. I feel very safe with him so I would rate him about an 8 out of 10.
I will rate bedside etc after the surgery, but I have heard nothing but Good about his bedside manners!

Steve Tersigni is one of the best surgeons I have ever worked with (I am a nurse in Critical Care) and a great person with a big heart. I've worked with a lot of doctors over the years and he is one of 3 awesome and competent surgeons working together here in our community but he has chosen bariatric surgery as his speciality and ALL the nurses have chosen him to do their bypass surgery here.

Excellent doctor. He also did gallbladder removal for me 5 years ago. Concerned more with the patients then all the insurance and red tape. He really helps alot. Himself and staff are kind compassionate people. Aftercare and preop procedure are a must at his office they are very thorough and concerned with the individual. He has a very structured aftercare program. They all answer any questions that I had even if I thought they were dumb or repetitive. In my book I rate him as a 10 and his staff also. He has excellent bedside manner and surgical competence. This is my opinion based on my experience only.

I went and met with Dr. Tersigni in the beginning of November of 2001. I found him to be very professional, and his knowledge of the proceedure very helpful. He answered all my questions, with great detail. The staff is very helpful. His nurse has had this surgery done, and she speaks from first hand experience, and this helps to ease any nervousness. I would recommend Dr. Tersigni.

He was very understanding, took time to answer all questions, put me at ease.
My impression only got better.
Office Staff was WONDERFUL
He was somtimes a little short with time, espically postop in hospital.
He is great at this, very knowledgeable.
A great deal..
A very structured aftercare program
Risks were explained to the point, no beating around the bush, very forthright.
Excellent.
Surgical Compentence.

My first impression was that he was a thin,
very good looking stand-offish man. I met
in in the usual exam room , after his nurse
had taken about 10 minutes explaining her own bypass surgery experience and asking what questions
I may have. I saw the doctor not more than
about 5-10 mintes tops. He listened to my
chest and asked if I had previous lower
abdominal surgery. I then got billed $385.00
for an consultation and physical. Not a happy
camper ! I appealed the bill to the office and was told the doctor said he gave me a
phsyical...not so! What choice do we have
when they (doctors) know we really need them.
Doctor stressed that this surgery procedure
was only a tool and not to feel it alone was
the whole answer. He showed me a preliminary
sketch of the stomach..intestine..I then
told him I had seen the surgery on cable
health channel and only wondered what happened to the stomach part that was cut
away. He explained that processing still took
place from the separated section..neat.
bedside manner..nil!
Compromising and understanding about my
finances .NO WAY !!
I would have felt a whole lot more comfortable and confident he was "my" doctor
had he been reasonable about initial fee..God knows he could have played with the figures to get the amount any way in the
surgery fee and still have given a the
impression he cared one iota how I felt!
The girls in the office were all very nice
and answered all questions and worked with
my work schedule in setting up pre op
tests.
