Dr. Gastwirt is the most personable, down-to-earth doctor I have ever encountered. She has the nicest "bedside manner" and is completely honest and trustworthy. From the moment I met her I knew I had made the right decision to move forward with WLS.

Her approach is direct and she tells it like it is; I had no questions going into my surgery and her post-op recommendations were easy to follow. I had no problems at all and appreciated her conservative approach to post-of nutrition.

On a scale of 1-10 I would give Dr. Gastwirt a 10+! She makes you feel as if you're the only patient she has and my WLS results are amazing. I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat.

I think a surgeon's overall knowlege, experience with WLS and possible complications, coupled with surgical competence are paramount when choosing a physician. Dr. Gastwirt is a "total package" and I would recommend her to anyone researching or contemplating WLS in the Boston area.

Dr. Gastwirt was awesome. She is very knowledgable and compasionate. My impression of her has not changed. So far I have not had any problems with her staff office. When I leave messages they are usually answered promptly. I liked the fact that Dr. Gastwirt went over the surgery and what to expect. She also assured me that she prefers "open field" versus the lap, which I was not confortable with at all. She addressed all the risks and I highly reccomend Dr. Gastwirt.

I am very confident and confortable that Dr. Gastwirth. She is direct and has done an excellent job of explaining the risks and benefits. She and her staff have provided many written and verbal resources.

The office staff is wonderful! I could not praise then enough to do them justice.

Dr. Gastwirt is a pleasure. She was informative and friendly. She spoke with me as if she knew me for years. I felt completely comfortable in my decision with her and the entire process.

Dr. Pam Gastwirt is a great dr. I had a lot of promblems with surgery. and if I was to do it all over again I would still have her as my Dr. I look forward to seeing her every month for my check up. I trusted my life in her hands. And everything worked out great. Thank you Dr. Gastwirt for giving a great new life.

My first impression of Dr. Pamela Gastwirt was, to be honest, "wow she seems so young and so pretty". After me being late for my appointment because I got lost, I was informed that I would have to reschedule. Let me tell you, I was devastated. Almost in tears, I begged to remain the entire day just in case she could fit me in. Again I was told I would have to reschedule. Giving in, I was filling out the remaining paperwork when out of nowhere they told me she was going to "fit me in somewhere" as long as I could wait. Now what other doctor would to that for a paitent they have never even met. After meeting with her, I found her to be charming, informative and most importantly, very sensitive to my needs and questions. I thank God I was referred to her. She is absolutely wonderful. The office staff were all very friendly and continue to be very helpful as well. Dr. Gastwirt empasizes aftercare and has a very structured process for post op patients. I would rate Dr. Pamela Gastwirt excellent in all areas in dealing with me. As far as which is better, bedside manner or surgical competence, I believe with her, she is and will be great in both areas.

Dr. Gastwirt is very personable, with a wonderful bedside manner. She is a self-professed type A personality which is a great quality for a surgeon to possess. She is a mother of a 3 yr old & 17 mo old, so I felt some sort of a maternal bond with her as I have children of similar ages. She took her time, wasn't pompous or condescending at all, and answered every question I had. I would recommend her to anyone seeking an experienced, successful surgeon that also has fantastic people skills.

My experience with Dr Gastwirt and the staff at the Beth Isreal Deaconess Medical center has been wonderful they are all awesome and I would recommend them to anyone in fact I have recommended two aunts to them. So far it has been a smoothe ride.

I have met with Dr. Gastwirt once. She was very open, direct and friendly. I found her through, willing to discuss details and answer questions. I look forward to working with her.

7/19/01 Pam is very nice. She is very intelligent and professional but has a wonderful air around her that makes you feel warm and fuzzy. I am so glad that I chose her as my surgeon. She has been helpful in everyway and I feel like she's a friend.

I have to tell you that this dr. so far has been wonderful. I had my consultation with her on March 8th. I had been getting a ride into the hospital, and was unsure of the way myself. My ride didn't show up and I was forced to try to find my way on my own. Anyway I was lost in Boston for 1.5 hours and my appt was at 1:30pm. I walked into the office at 2:45pm. Although she had a meeting, she still met with me and we were able to handle all of the questions in a very short time. She was great on first impression, we will see what happens next.
