I was very impressed with Dr. Coster at my consultation. He walked in the room and put me at ease. I was so scared and nervous, but he was very down to earth, and didn't talk above my head. His office staff if very friendly. He explained many of the details that I have already researched about this surgery and aftercare. He repeatedly asked me if I had questions and didn't rush me. I am already very happy with Dr. Coster, I am so glad that he will be my surgeon.

Very thorough and descriptive. He was also friendly and dictated right in front of me.

I thought he was wonderful. I've never had a Dr. make eye contact like he does. He takes time with you and answers all your questions. You can ask him anything, he's heard it all. The office was very clean and everyone is very pleasent. There isn't anything not to like about him at this point.I would recommend him to any one at this point. The hospital was just as nice. Will right more after wls surg.

I think Dr Coster is absolutely wonderful!! I have never met a Dr more caring and understanding and really willing to go to bat for his patients. I wouldn't hesitate to reccommend this man to anyone. I was really impressed with the fact that I had my appt on the 21st of December and by the 22nd they had already faxed the insurance letter to my company. He works fast and is able to schedule his surgeries soon after approval. I figure he is the best kept secret in the midwest. I also love Grinnell Hospital so far... I went to have my pre-op testing on Tuesday and had gotten my EKG, Pulmonary test, Chest Xray and blood drawn all within about 45 minutes of being there.

My first visit with Dr. Coster was on Feb. 8th, 2001. I took my husband with me and we were both real impressed with the time he took to explain things to us and made us feel real comfortable. When we left his office I knew that I had made the right decision.
My impression hasn't changed because I haven't seen him since then. I am waiting on the insurance company to approve the surgery.
His office staff started out without supplying me with much information. The best one there that finally started communicating with me is Julie R. The rest of the time whenever I would call would only say they would call when they heard from the insurance co. I felt like I was being left out in the dark.
Dr. Coster told us that he really believes in the after care. It is a major part of the surgery.

My first inpression of Dr. Coster, was WOW!!! Not only handsome, but caring and compassionate. His nurse Jackie is wonderful and efficent, they make you feel like you are the only one that matters...I remember when I had to cancel my first surgery date after waiting for approval for 2 months, due to a mess up with my COBRA insurance, they even cried with me. I don't think i could list something i didn't like about Dr. Coster or his staff even if i were paid...i can't emphisize(sp) enough how wonderful they all are right down to the bedside manner.
Dr. Coster does go over all the risks and do's and do not's with you. He is a very honest person...he will tell it like it is...just make sure you listen to him, or you could get yourself into trouble. He also explains in great detail, what the surgery is, and will tell you which one he thinks is best for you based on what you tell him.
I think i would rate Dr. Coster and his staff on a scale of 1-10 a 15+...they are amazing!! ((But this is just my personal opinion.))

This man is a terrific person. He absolutely knows what he is talking about and he fits the surgery to your best interest. YOU are his primary concern. My first impression is a lasting one and his staff is great. As a self-pay person, they were willing to work with you to set up a payment schedula. He explains everything in detail and the procedures also. He is especially thoughtful about the aftercare you need. I'd recommend him for anyone.

My first impression was great. I knew right then that I wanted him. I felt he really cared and appeared skilled. I did my own checking and great reviews. The staff were very nice. A srong feeling of really caring about me. The other questions I don't have the answers to yet. He did advise me of the risks clearly and completely.

Was most impressed a surgeon who was personable and respectful.
I felt like I was talking to someone on my e-group as he said
everything that my research had shown.Was in a bit of a hurry, but
I was his last patient before going on vacation, and the weather was lousy.
Recognized that I was intelligent
and knew I had done my homework. Office staff was pleasant and efficient.
Course I'm pretty easy to get along with but they were prompt in returning
phone calls

My first impression of Dr. Coster, was GREAT! I'm so happy I picked him. He was very caring, kind, and supportive of my decision. He was not judgemental in any way. His staff was wonderful very knowledgable and caring. I can't wait to get back up there and get my surgery, I'm really excited and can't wait!!!
I would highly recommend Dr. Coster to anyone considering this surgery. He is the "best kept secret in the midwest!" He's a great surgeon! From 1-10 I would rate him a 15!!!! He's also very personable, very easy to talk to, with a sense of humor.
