Dr Lusco has never been anything but kind and professional with me. I had Lap Band in November 2013 and I have never been dissatisfied with the care I received from him. The office staff was kind and professional as well. In addition to his office staff, the staff at St Mary's Bariatric Center (Jessica, Terry, Debbie, and Lana) were always kind, courteous and helpful. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Dr Lusco performed my gall bladder surgery, as well as my Lap Band surgery and I couldn't have asked for a better doctor. The only time he ever was "stern" with me (if you can call it that) was when I was complaining that the band "wasn't working" or that the weight wasn't falling off quick enough. It was what I needed, as it caused me to see that it wasn't the band's fault, but mine. I sucked it up, hunkered down and the weight is coming off.
The only negative that I can find is that I tend to have to wait a bit before I am seen.

Dr. Lusco and staff are completely unprofessional. Terrible demeanor and condescending to patient. Seems to care more about own ego than helping patient. Dr. Lusco, if you read these reviews, you should re-evaluate the way to speak with your patients. We're not something that you just install a 'part' in and command to work well. We are people, with feelings and emotions. Yes you are a surgeon - You're not a god - so stop acting like you can't be replaced. I would not recommend anyone go to this surgeon. He's a real jerk.

My surgeon was wonderful, he answered all by questions. I had to reschedule the pre-op appt because his wife had a baby. He called me at work to tell me my lab results. His staff were all very helpful and seem very pleasant. The St Marys and Elizabeth Hospital has a wonderful program set up for lap bands, Pre-op and Post-op care.

I had my lapband surgery in 06 and have not been successful in losing the weight. It just feel like the band is in my chest. I feel sore and swollen alot and I have alot of trouble with my asthema. I too liked Dr. Olsofka at first. He was more than willing to answer any q's I had. Lana is such a sweetheart. However, when I am seen I try to tell him things that are bothering me and things I am feeling. He just shruggs it of like I am just imagining things. He can be be nice, because I have seen it. I wish now I would have went with a different doctor that had better bedside, only because when you are going through problems you need someone to support you and help you. Not make you feel like it's all in your head. We all have to deal with enough by being overweight. I can see how people like him at first he is so friendly in the seminar and at the hosp. These statements are only of my personal experience. I have heard people say they really like him and are having no problem.

He is very knowledgeable about the procedure. I liked him from the moment I met him. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. The office visits I had were very brief, but he always asked me several times if I had any other questions or concerns. I had my surgery through Saints Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. The staff there is very fiendly and through, I would recommend anyone to their Bariatric Program!! They have an RN named Debbie that has been through the procedure and is was there with me throughout the whole process!!

I liked Dr. Olsofka before the surgery but it was all donhill after my lap-band. I don't think he took time to listen to the problems I had after my 1st fill. I have attempted to have my band filled twice with awful problems. I did visit him several times to seek help but he is always in a hurry. I was rushed out with no answers each time and did not want to return. I had a baby In October 2008 and even with an empty band had multiple problems. I was admitted to the hospital due to complications from my band and induced several weeks early because of the complications. I am now waiting to see another surgeon to see if he can fix or remove my band. It is very difficult to find another physician who will work on you if they did not perform your surgery. rnThe one thing that was wonderful at the office was the two nurses who only deal with Lap-band patients. They have always been very sweet, able to take time to talk to you, and really seem concerned about the patient. rnDr. Olsofka made me feel like my issues were not real and I needed to deal with it. I would not recomend him to anyone.

dr o is very brief and to the point. no hand holding or codling. His bedside manner lacks where his surgical competence is excellent.
