Mark T. Jaroch M.D. Bariatric Center

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF HIM WAS THAT HE KNEW JUST HOW I FELT. HE WENT OVER EVERY THING WITH ME ABOUT THE OPERATION. HE WAS VERY CAREING AND UNDERSTANDING .
OVER TIME I FELT VERY AT EASE WITH HIM.THE STAFF TREATED ME WONDERFUL
WHAT I LIKE LEASED ABOUT HIM WAS [NOTHING] HE WAS EVERY THING I THOUGHT A DOCTOR SHOULD BE.
FUTURE PATIENTS WILL LIKE HIM ALSO.
YES HE DO HAVE A AFTERCARE PROGRAM.
SOME CASE,S YOU MIGHT GET A HURNEYA HOPE I SPELL THAT RIGHT.[RISK]
I RATE HIM AS [8] SCALE FROM1 TO 10 .

He is very nice and really seems to care. Everyone is very nice and answers all your questions and have been very helpful. He has a support group that meets each month and will even help you with your grocery list so that he can teach you what to buy.
I haven't had my surgery yet. I am scheduled for July. I am meeting with him in June. People in the support group speak as if he has saved their lives.
I look forward to working with him for my future health.

Dr.Jaroch impressed me very much. Even though it took awhile to get to see him, it was well worth the wait. Once i did get to speak with him, he took his time with me and this allowed me to ask all that i wanted to ask him. I also know that he does care about his patients because of his aftercare programs. I have attended his monthly meetings and have learned so so much. My surgery is in july but so far i can honestly say that i would rate him a 9/10. I find it too hard to rate someone that is clearly one of the best surgeons around.

My first visit with Doc J was February 25, 2000. My surgery was June 22, 2000. My first impression about him is that he is a very concerned doctor. He was impressed that I had researched the surgery online. The office staff is great.. Judy has been especially helpful. She has listened to me whine and told me that the feelings I had were normal. She is herself a post op. I really don't have anything that I dislike about Doc J. He does so much for his patients. And when you are bad he lets you know. He takes his patients on grocery walk thrus and tells us what foods we should buy and how to fix them. There are alot of different things that he is also learning about the surgery, as far as how it affects some of us...He is very thorough about what you eat, what you do, and most of all, that you take your vitamins and exercise. There are risks in any surgery you have. This surgery is no exception. He went over everything with me and asked me if I had any questions. Whatever you ask, no matter how stupid you think it is... ask.. and he answers. I give Doc J a 12 on a scale of 1-10. He does not walk on water, but he gave me back my life. Without this surgery, I would have been dead by now. I think he is a fantastic dr and I would recommend him to anyone. I would also do this over in a heartbeat. I'm 10 mos. post op and I now have my life back again.

I heard a lot about Dr Jaroch before meeting him. Of course I had formed my idea of what he 'should' be like, and of course, I was surprised. He is knowledgeable, he cares, he doesn't avoid any issues. I really like that he does NOT specialize in WLS. I didn't feel that he was soliciting me (as I did with some other surgeons). He places a LOT of emphasis on aftercare and does help with that. I like the email support group for his patients.
I'll let you know more after surgery!

He's a very caring and compassionate Dr. I was impressed with his attention to details.
It took forever to get an initial visit with him but once I saw him things have just been steadily progressing, nearing my surgery date of 7/26/2001.
His caring does not just stop after the surgery. He is totally involved with all aspects of "life after surgery".
He holds support groups once a month and he does walk arounds at the local grocery stores to educate his patients on what to eat and not eat.

My PCP highly recommended Dr. Jaroch and after about a year of thinking it over I decided to make an appt. I waited approx. 8 months form the time I initially made an appt. in June, 2000 to the time of my surgery on 2/5/01. I never had a canceled appt. and infact my sugery date was moved up by his office twice. I would recommend Dr. Jaroch to anybody who was interested in WLS. On a scale from 1-10, I would give him a 10 for his knowledge, caringness, skill and ability. Afterall, how may doctors do you know that have his busy schedule and make time to run a support group once a month and take you grocery shopping so you won't buy the wrong things anymore? I don't know of any other than DR. Jaroch. I trusted him with my life and in return he gave me a whole new life and hope for my furture! Thank you Dr. J !! ;-) Jackie

HI THIS IS A VERY DISAPPOINTING TIME FOR ME. I WAITED FOR 3 MONTHS JUST TO BE ABLE TO GET IN TO SEE DR. JAROCH. AND TOMORROW WOULD HAVE BEEN MY APPOINTMENT. ITS 4:00 PM AND I WAS JUST CALLED TO HAVE MY APOINTMENT RESCHEDULED FOR ANOTHER MONTH. I WAS LOOKING SO FORWARD TO GOING TOMORROW. I HAVE ALL THE PAPER WORK THAT I NEED, AND I PUT IT IN MY CAR SO I WOULDN'T HAVE A BLONDE MOMENT AND FORGET IT. NOW..........EVERYTHING IS ON HOLD. I HOPE THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN ALOT :( I AM REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING THIS OVERWITH, LOOSING THE WEIGHT AND GETTING INTO A BIKINI AGAIN. (WISHFUL THINKING) LET YA ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENS. DEB URBAN 3/26/2001

My first experience with Dr. Jaroch's office was disappointing. My appointments were rescheduled 4 times before I finally got to actually meet with him. My initial office visit was also disappointing, I had to wait 3 hours beyound my appointment before I was seen!
When I did meet the doctor, he was very kind and put me at ease right away. The procedure was explained in detail and also the risks. Dr Jaroch exponded upon his qualifications to perform the surgery and invited me to attend a group meeting for pre and post operative candidates.
I attended the group meeting with a family member and was very impressed. Those who had already been through surgery shared suggestions on foods, how to take meds, swapping clothing, etc. In addition, questions were answered about the surgery and aftercare.
I met several people at the meeting who were post operative. They were happy with the doctor and the surgery.
My pre-surgical office visit has been rescheduled once so far.
As far as office staff is concerned, Judy is the best!!! She has a lot to deal with, but she is always helpful and kind.
My surgery is scheduled for April 25, 2001. I feel confident with my surgeon.
I will let you know how it goes later...
Met with Dr. Jaroch on March 14 at Akron General for an EGD. The staff at the hospital was very professional and kind. Dr. Jaroch greeted me upon entering the procedure room and spoke to me afterwards. He took a biopsy of my stomach lining because it was irritated, but assured me that everything was okay. I was instructed to call the office in 3 days to receive the results of my biopsy. I called and was told that the results were there but that the doctor had not looked at the report yet and that I would be called. As of today, I have not heard anything. I know that he is very busy and will assume that "no news is good news". I won't press it and will wwait until my pre-op office visit March 30 if I don't receive a call from his office prior.
