Finally met Dr. Wilson. They were so busy that day but the 4 minutes I did spend with him he seemed genuinely apologetic for the rush. rnrnHe's a handsome, nice fella. I have a good feeling about him.

Excellent doctor. Think he cared about what he was doing and was not trying to run me through like a cattle call. (He definately was not in it for the bucks). Since I was a self pay he offered to contact a VP at Memorial Hermann if I was going to have to stay an extra day when he found out the hospital wanted an extra $4k+ for each extra day. Didn't have to stay beyond scheduled 3 days.rn Surgery went as planned. I was up walking 4 hours after surgery and even walked up a flight of stairs on fist walk. Never needed any pain medication in the hospital and haven't even filled the prescription for pain meds after leaving.rn I would definately recommend him or Memorial Hermann Hospital (Houston Medical Center)`if you needed an opinion.rnrn

He is the best! Kind, Caring and Listens to you. And he is a GREAT surgeon. I had full trust in him. His office is busy..but that is ok. His nurses are also there to help me in anyway!

My surgeon is a handsome man that puts me completely at ease. He is very nice and supportive, and he has awesome results. I completely trust him and his staff with my surgery. I recommend you going to his office if you are wanting WLS.

Dr wilson, is very compassionate and caring towards his patients. The office staff is very helpful, especially Connie.I dont know about his bedside manners yet since my surgery is on october 16th 2006. I went to one of the info. meeting and he went over all the risk and benifits of WLS.

I first met Dr. Wilson on March 29, 2005. At that time I weighed 658 lbs and was bedridden. He and his staff were very curteous and helpful, but he explained to me that it was simply too dangerous for me to have surgery at that point. He said that I needed to get below 500 lbs. and regain mobility before it would be safe enough to operate. He perscribed an Optifast diet, which was approximately 1500 calories a day. I did use Optifast for awhile, but eventually moved to real food and counting calories, also at 1500 calories a day.rnThe next time I saw Dr. Wilson was at the mandatory informational meeting, which I believe that I went to in February 2006. By that point I was under 500 lbs. and still losing. He recognized me and seemed genuinely delighted to see me. (I doubt he thought he would ever see me again.) rnHe did my Lap RNY on May 22, 2006 and I have done beautifully. I have had no complications whatsoever. I could not be more pleased with Dr. Wilson and I would recommend him to anyone looking into WLS.

'I was referred to Dr. Wilson by a co-worker who had gastric bypass. The endorsement she gave prompted me to make an appoinment. rnWhen I first met with Dr. Wilson

I first saw Dr. Wilson at the seminar that he makes you attend before you can get an appointment. I was very impressed at his knowledge and honesty. When I tried to make an appointment I hit a roadblock. Since I am a revision patient, I had to get surgery notes from my first surgery sent to him for review before he would see me. Dr. Wilson made me have lots of tests run before he would submit my letter to the insurance company. I appreciate the process he had me go through. I originally went to him to have the lap band surgery. My husband went with me to discuss it. He has always been against me having the RNY. When we found out that my insurance company would not pay for the lap band, he agreed to let me have the RNY. My husband is totally comfortable with Dr. Wilson and his skills. Everyone in his office has been extremely helpful, and I can't wait to get to the next stage of my life (2/27/06).
The only negative thing is the length of time you sometimes have to wait in his office when you go to see him.

7/25/04 I have changed surgeons as Dr. Glorsky was not an approved provider on my insurance plan (thank God! All things happen for a reason). I have found a much greater surgeon, Erik Wilson. I went in for my appointment and was very happy with him! He answered all of my questions and was very personable. Dr. Wilson is easy to talk to and seemed to understand the trials fat people go through. He did order more tests to be sure I was able to withstand the surgery (something I appreciated even though it did delay my date, but at least I know where I stand before entering the operating room)and was open and honest in answering all of my many questions. I felt that Dr. Wilson was forthcoming with all the information I requested and he looked great, too! Dr. Wilson is a very knowledgeable surgeon and I feel I have made the right choice in selecting him as my surgeon. The only thing that could have been improved was the wait to see him. But, then again, great things are worth waiting for!

I met Dr Wilson at a monthly Bariatric Orientation. He provided a power point presentation that definately outlined the risks of surgery to the point that midway through, I was ready to sneak out the side door, however, by the end of the presentation, I knew it was the right decision for me.

I was a revision patient and have had some complications with my healing, but I could never have gotten through this without Dr. Wilson. His compassion, support and extreme medical competence have been a real blessing.

His aftercare program and support continues to be exceptional. I honestly believe this surgeon is the one of the rare doctors that is committed today and tomorrow for his patients.

I cannot recommend him highly enough. This was my second WLS and I know the difference between surgeons that are in the bariatric practice for money and a surgeon that has a calling to help patients struggling with a life time of obesity.

Negatives? Only that is is cautious and concerned and makes me slow down at times when I would rush forward. He is wonderful. He will change your life!
