Nothing but positive things to say about Doogie..er...I mean...Doctor Nizzi. He and his staff were all friendly and helpful. My surgery was almost three yrs ago...I would do it again in a heartbeat. I have had absolutely no complications. Just follow the \"rules\"...That's the most important part. Stick to the restrictions and suggestions given to you by he and his team. It's not rocket science. If you eat things that are not on your \"list\", expect to have negative results. It's pretty simple stuff.
He was very professional and knowledgable. rnHis staff was also very friendly and warm and professional. rnI think anyone should consider Dr. Kam. He did a wonderful job. I barely even had gas pains from the laporoscopy, and had no complications with my Lap Gastric by-pass.rnHe has a very structured after care program. rnMost of the risks were discussed when filling out the papers. rnI would rate him very highly. rnBoth surgical competence and bedside manner are great.rnIf I had to say anything negative at all, it would probably be that he should have informed me more about the risks and long term effects of the surgery concerning possible deficiencies, etc. The rest of your life type possibilities.
I instantly felt at ease when as soon as I entered Grand Traverse Surgery. Everyone is so pleasant, the nurses were friendly.... Mary Kay (bariatric coordinator) is a sweetie and was very informative. Angie that made all my appts for pre-op testing, who was also the first one to have bariatric surgery there in TC, was more then willing to discuss her personal story with me and that meant alot. Dr. Nizzi is great ! I had been wishy washy about which surgery to have, LapBand or RNY and by the time he got done going through the surgery processes for both, I knew without a doubt RNY would be the best. He isn't afraid to put it out there and is out to strive for 100% excess weight loss for his patients. From my experience with Dr. Nizzi and GT Surgery thus far, it has been a very pleasant one and I would recommend them !
Dr. Kam is very down to earth. He was very informative and listened well.
I really liked Dr. Kam from the start. I feel very comfortable in the clinic.rnrnMy surgery was the 22nd of November. Dr. Kam is simply a lovely man. He is warm, caring and compassionate. I can't think of enough good things to say. I am home from my surgery, and outside of the normal things that happen post op (bruising, swelling) I am in fine shape. I would recommend him, and the Barix facility to anyone thinking about this surgery.
When I met Dr. Kam at The Barix Clinic in Ypsilanti, Michigan, I was very impressed at how easily he made us feel welcome to his hospital....rnrnHe absolutely made me want to have the surgery....He explained everything clearly & made sure all my questions were answered....rnrnThe staff are all wonderful & very caring....They all answer your questions in full detail and make sure you understand....rnrnDr. Kam is the sweetest Doctor you will ever meet....He is very intelligent & has a great sense of humour....rnrnDr. Kam is a caring, understanding, man....He will see that you are well looked after in every way....rnrnDr. Kam educates you in every aspect of your care for before, during and after your hospital stay....He really takes great strides to see that you understand your next steps in your new body.....rnrnAt The Barix Clinic, you will visit repeatedly over the next year and beyond to be sure you stay on track.....The support they give you is so good....rnrnDr. Kam walks you through the whole process of surgery....He makes sure you understand exactly what will happen....He makes it his job to inform you of every aspect of the surgery....rnHe tells you the risks as well as the benefits....rnHe is completely honest and upfront about any risk involved..... rnrnOn a scale of one to ten with ten being the highest standing.....I would rate Dr. Kam as a perfect ten.....He is one of the best surgeons performing this surgery....rnrnI think surgical competence far out ways bedside manner....Both are important in their own ways....Although I really like a surgeon who knows exactly what they are doing.....
I was very impressed with Dr. Kam from the first meeting. He provided me with all the information for my surgery and made sure all my questions were answered. His staff have always been extremely nice and professional when I have had to meet with them. My stay in the hospital went very well and the nurses were excellent. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Kam to anyone looking into RNY surgery.
What a wonderful and caring man! My family generally felt he cared about my surgery and was truly happy when he met with them after I was in recovery.rnrnHe is very intelligent and caring. Nice strong handshake which I find important. He definitely knows what he's doing and can answer any concerns I had.rnrnWhen I first met him, I was at a seminar at Barix. He is very competent and knew his specialty. He generally cares about each of his patients and provides them with the absolutely best.rnrnMy impression only grew more positive. He is an amazing person. He actually appears to genuinely enjoy his job.rnrnHis team at Barix... well, only 4 words, They Are The BEST!!! I have absolutely no complaints about my stay at the hospital. What an amazing team.rnrnThe after care progam is very thorough. I received a call from Barix the day I got home, they were just wondering if the trip home was ok and how was I doing. I didn't expect that call at all but it confirmed my thoughts on the team at Barix.rnrnDr. Kam expained the risks of the surgery, also about the post-op experiences I may go through. I felt very comfortable with him and knew if any problems would arise, I was in the best hands.rnrnI give Dr. Kam and his team a 10/10! There really was nothing more that could've been done to make my stay better. They are very attentive and caring. The entire staff is caring, helpful and understanding. They genuinely care about their patients and it definitely shows.rnrnThank you Dr. Kam and your Team. You have given me a second chance at life which I will never forget.
I have only met Dr. Kam once and that was on my surgical consult. He was very nice. I did not feel judged by him he treated me like a normal person and he made me feel like there was hope for me. The case is not the same with other family practice doctors I believe that once you get so obese they treat you like a lost cause and I did not feel like that with Dr. Kam. I am looking forward to meeting with him again on November 1st when I go for my pre op testing.
