WHEN I WALKED INTO THE BARIX CLINIC I FOUND EVERYONE TO BE EXTREMELY FRIENDLY, FROM THE RECEPTIONIST TO THE NURSES AND TO DR.KAM WHOM I THINK IS FANTASTIC. DR. KAM TELLS YOU LIKE IT IS HE TELLS YOU ALL OF THE BAD THAT COULD GO WITH ALL THE GOOD, I FEEL 100% COMFORTABLE WITH MY CHOICE OF HOSPITAL AND WITH DR. KAM. SO FAR OUT OF 10 I WOULD RATE THE CLINIC 10. WHILE AT BARIX FOR MY FIRST CONSULT I WAS ABLE TO VISIT A ROOM AND THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL, NO COMPARISON TO OUR HOSPITALS HERE IN THE HAMILTON AREA.
My first impression was that he was passionate about the surgery and his patients. I knew i would be in good hands from the first day i met him. He answered my questions honestly and I felt he was able to give me a lot of useful information. My impression only became stronger after the surgery. The office staff at Barix is amazing! They were all helpful and supportive! I would definately recommend Barix to anyone considering surgery. After care is very important and I like how I meet with the nutritionist and Dr. Kam at every appointment thus far. I find they give me information to keep on track with my protein and water intake, as well as advice. The after care program is very structured meeting with him at 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year... I am glad he is on top of things. I rate himself and his team 10/10! I felt his surgical competence was very good. Although I felt his bedside manner a certain times could have been better. I know he does have to see many patients in a day and that could account for the time constraint when he would come in to see me. The nursing staff was exceptional, whenever i needed anything they were there to help! They were kind hearted and uplifting. :)
Dr. Slikkers is very knowledgeable and is a great listener. They are very thorough at Grand Traverse Surgery and make sure you don't have any hidden conditions that might complicate things. I will add more after my stay in the hospital.
Dr. Featherstone is the best! I felt completing at ease with him. He was very caring and wants to help those of us battling obesity. He is such a great person and I am glad to be a patient of his.rnrnThanks Dr. F!!!
I have only met Dr Kam one time and he was great. I wasn't sure I was going to luck out and like the first surgeon I met. He was very forth right and answered all our questions. The staff they have in MI was very friendly and seemed to be well informed. As I haven't had my surgery yet I can only go now on what my first impression was and I feel comfortable in allowing him to go ahead. I had to go to MI since my ins. won't allow me to stay in OH. He informed me that there were other places in OH besides the Barix Clinic here I told him I had done my research on those places and the staff seemed to not like to work with an over weight patient. His staff has contacted me to let me know what I need as far as my ins. goes as well as how I am doing to prepare. rnrnrnI am now two weeks out from my surgery and wanted to let people know that Dr Kam is probably the best dr I have ever met. He was right there the whole time and made sure I had every question answered and was so knowledgeabole about the whole process that it would be impossible for me to not be at ease.
